Samsung SyncMaster 933BW / 2233BW / 2433BW

Samsung has brought the style of its previous LCD television range to its latest LCD monitors. Though lacking the LED backlighting technology seen in many of the latest televisions and bereft of an HDMI port, the 21.5in SyncMaster P2250 LCD monitor ...

Attractive design, good colours, crisp text, excellent sharpness

Glossy finish attracts fingerprint, struggles to distinguish blacks, no HDMI input

General office tasks are pleasing: text is sharp and clear with no visible aberrations, though the light reflecting off the glossy bezel did tire our eyes after long periods of use. Detail and general sharpness are also impressive and we encountered ...

NEC MultiSync EA221WM / EA261WM

NEC P221W LCD monitor

By Kalpana Ettenson

This attractive, well-designed 22-inch widescreen monitor offers impeccable image quality. But at $1255, it's extremely pricey, particularly when you consider that other 22-inch displays can be found for $400 or less.

Excellent image quality

Pricey in comparison to other displays

Attractive and well-designed, this professional display offers fantastic image quality. But it also comes with a very high price.

BenQ G2400W / G2400WA / G2400WD / G2400WT

BenQ M2400HD

By Ross Catanzariti

Gloss white colour scheme, HDMI input, straightforward controls, full HD resolution, 2ms response time, included webcam and speakers, USB ports

A little expensive, question marks over build quality, some image noise via HDMI, stand isn't height adjustable, controls aren't backlit, viewing angles could be improved

Although it's a little pricey compared to similar 24in models, BenQ's M2400HD LCD monitor does include a number of nifty extras like a detachable webcam and USB ports. The full HD resolution combined with a HDMI port make it a great choice for gaming.

ViewSonic VG2427wm

Displays text well, Full HD resolution

No HDMI port, less-than-totally-smooth video playback

The ViewSonic VG2427wm would make a good choice for users who need a big screen for text-intensive work, but the less-than-totally-smooth video playback and the lack of an HDMI-in port may disappoint for gamers and movie watchers.

Full HD resolution, HDMI input, 2ms response time, good colour and contrast, 16:9 widescreen

Some image noise via HDMI, glossy bezel reflects light, stand isn't height adjustable, controls aren't backlit, viewing angles could be improved

The Full HD resolution and HDMI port make the BenQ G2412HD a relatively inexpensive way to get the most out of high-definition gaming consoles. The level of image noise could be improved when the monitor is connected via HDMI, but given the asking ...
