Great deal

Other reviews complained about dead pixels. After ~6months of ownership, I have not seen a single one. Was a great buy.

Cheap, bright screen, great image quality

A little small, but you get what you pay for

Hanns·G HW-173ABB Black 17" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 600:1

Consumer review by:

Great second monitor, no DVI

Crisp graphics ; Good color (was worried it would be cheap) ; Low price ; Great second monitor

Only VGA input, no DVI or HDMI

If anyone has any intention of mounting this on a wall go buy another monitor. If you will absolutely never use a wall mount this is a good cheap LCD.

Cheap LCD

Well removing the stand voids the warranty, I might call that a con ; Potential buyers, note there are 4 screws that hold the stand to the monitor and over one of these screws is a "warranty void if removed" sticker. You can see it in the picture on...

Product Specifications

The HANNS.G HW173ABB monitor meets the green monitor standards as set by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and The Swedish Confederation Employees (NUTEK). This feature is designed to conserve electrical energy by reducing power consumption when there is no video-input signal present. When there is no video input signal this monitor, following a time-out period, will automatically switch to power saving mode. This reduces the monitor's internal power supply consumption. After the video input signal is restored, full power is restored and the display is automatically redrawn. The appearance is similar to a "Screen Saver" feature except the display is completely off. The display is restored by pressing a key on the keyboard, or clicking the mouse.
