Dell SX2210T vs. HP L2105tm: optical multitouch head-to-head review

Dell and HP, HP and Dell. The United States' two biggest computer hardware manufacturers, and two of the world's top three, have tended to match each

Affordable entry into multitouch world ; Speakers and stylus caddy come built in ; Great positional versatility

Requires high degree of calibration ; Touchscreen adds little real world value ; Extra glossy display doesn't match externals

HP 2159m

HP's 21.5-inch monitor is fairly average for its class — however, in the face of its limitations, the price doesn't add up.

16:9, full HD resolution

HDMI overscans, Glossy screen, Overpriced

HP 2159m

Now that widescreen desktop displays are making the transition to the 16:9 aspect ratio, it should come as no surprise that monitor vendors are now offering full high definition capabilities on their smaller models. Enter the HP 2150m ($239.99 direct),...

Good color quality. Hi-res screen. Sharp text reproduction. Three video inputs

Backlight seepage. Some tinting. Weak grayscale performance. No USB ports

The HP 2159m is capable of displaying HD content in its native format and does a very good job of reproducing small fonts, but it has some minor backlighting and tinting issues.

If you can find it for AU$300, it's worth a look. But until then, we can't recommend it.

Speakers no longer work

I have always been a HP monitor/printer-scanner/computer advocate but with this turnabout I am seriously dissapointed with their quality control

Great resolution and refresh rate. VERY crisp picture with no ghosting whatsoever

The only reason I purchased this monitor was due to the monitor/speaker combo which saved greatly on space. As of last night the speakers decided to stop working. I did a factory reset, no luck. I swaped speakers from the PC and the PC is putting out...

The best at this price range

I purchase tons of stuff online and rarely write reviews, but I just had to spread the word on this monitor, it's well worth the money!

Excellent picture, sharp text and graphics, vibrant colors. I also own a samsung lcd and a viewsonic 1080p lcd and this monitor beats them both handily. For a tn panel monitor, you get amazing picture quality ; Absolutely awesome for games and movies,...

The glossy surface does reflect much more than other lcd's I've used but it's very much worth the trade off due to the quality of the picture

Excellent Monitor

"I love this monitor. It is very bright and clear. I bought an HDMI cable to go with it, and it looks simply amazing. I bought the monitor for photos and programming. I love the size and resolution - I can see more of a photo and more lines of code....

Perfect

My CRT broke on me, and I had to go to a local retailer for an immediate replacement. I usually buy all my stuff from Newegg, but had to shell out the extra bux for an emmediate fix. I am extremely happy w/ this monitor.

True HD and beautiful picture, both on PC and PS3 (HDMI) No dead pixels high quality throughout (except built in speakers [speaker vents are in rear)

One of the speakers started crackling (like it blew out) 3 days after being hooked up via HDMI on the PS3. It would not stop me from buying another if the need arose. Honestly no one really cares about built in speaker performance
