HP 2311gt Review

Its passive 3D mode goes a long way in improving impressions, but you should be prepared to make extensive use of 3D to make its $270 price tag feel worthwhile.

As a 2D display, the HP 2311gt just looks kind of dull. Not irredeemably so, but the fact remains that you can get a better looking monitor for less if you’re not totally sold on the whole 3D thing. Its passive 3D mode goes a long way in improving...

HP 2311gt review

The HP 2311gt is one of the cheapest ways to experience 3D this side of a $16 movie ticket. That said, if 3D isn't important to you, at $260 at the time of this review, the monitor could be considered overpriced. So, looking past its 3D capability, is...

The HP 2311gt is decently priced, and has good general performance, useful OSD options, and convincing passive 3D.

There's an undeniable green-tint push that permeates the visuals, requiring deep customization to improve. The lack of ergonomic options is annoying, though not surprising. The price premium for 3D is a bit higher than I'd like.

The HP 2311gt is a fairly cheap way to get decent 3D on a monitor. It's also capable for general-purpose use, with useful connections and OSD options.

Review: HP 2311gt 3D monitor

HP targets budget market with 2311gt 3D monitor

Inexpensive ; Lightweight glasses ; No problems with flicker, crosstalk ; Full HD

Mediocre color, contrast ratio ; Narrow viewing angle compared to IPS

HP is among the many companies embracing 3D technology, and its 2311gt monitor aims to make the technology an affordable upgrade. The 23-inch monitor works as a standard 2D display, or as a 3D panel when combined with passive 3D glasses. In our full

Display 3D images without a special graphics card.

I haven't seen any lower cost implementation of PC 3D graphics. With a 1080p display, you get a nice crisp image and you have 3 types of video connectors (HDMI is recommended for best results).

No flickering because a passive polarized filter is used. The 3D glasses are light, low cost and no batteries. Works with common graphics cards (mid-range). Works with most games that use DirectX 9, 10, or 11. You can take 3D screen shots.

Although there is a VGA connector, it can't be used for 3D viewing. When is 3D mode, the effective resolution is reduced. Some people may find 3D viewing causes eye strain.

Dead Pixel, 3 months in.

I purchased this as as special deal, and it was definitely worth it. I have no regrets :)

Very vibrant screen, clear and easy to use

3D feature is okay, more of a novelty and not the reason I purchased this monitor. Dead pixel 3 months in. No speakers (For an expensive monitor, this is a con)

Awesome Monitor

Bought this a year ago to replace my other computer monitor. I am a heavy gamer. 3D looks awesome on videos created for 3D, games still can't fully utilize it.

Better than most current monitors ; You have the option of 3D

Update for 11/4 review

Somehow I can update the patch from CyberLink (Updates PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D Mark II to build 5223 from 2013-05-06 ), now I can watch the 3D blu-ray movies, also other 2D movies in 3D...

You can't use the 1920 x 1080 resolution for either 3D movies or games, but as long as you set the resolution to lower than 1920X1080 then you can

HDMI Funky

I gave it two stars because they would be great monitors if you you weren't wanting to use HDMI. Neweggs customer service was yet again amazing. I just told them my problem and had a full refund in two days

Nice looking monitor, built in speakers, and I got 2 of them for $130 each with a rebate

HDMI didn't work for me. From reading past reviews this seemed like it was going to be a gamble but I figured I would try them. As many have said they won't wake up or recognize input from HDMI......very frustrating. I tried on both monitors with three...

This is a GREAT 3D Monitor!!

I almost didn't buy this monitor because I was afraid that it would be outdated or not supported. Not like that at all. The Tri-Def software is still supported, and the 3D movie viewer is too. great monitor for the $150 price. Nothing like it any where...

Half Price - Best I have Seen. It is highly rated by CNET and other tech sites. It is Passive, but it doesn't look half the resolution. Movies still look like High def. Awesome 3D on all 3D movies. Who needs to go to the movies?!?! CRYSIS 3 and NFSMW...

The OEM TRI-DEF software it comes with doesn't do much. You have to buy the full version to play the latest games. $50 for that, but try the trial, it is worth it. There are the lines in the screen that you can see if you get really close, but not that...
