HP 2311x

When considering a new purchase, the importance of price can't be understated. Just attaching a low sticker price to a product can make something not even on your radar suddenly become a must-have. If, like me, you were a Steam customer during the...

The HP 2311x includes the trifecta of connection options, all placed in an easily accessible spot. Don't expect world-beating performance, but for $230 it's quite good and even more impressive currently from Amazon.com for $180.

The monitor has no ergonomic support beyond tilt, its Movie and Gaming presets are too dark, and it has a plastic-feeling build quality. Some audio options would have been useful.

The HP 2311x is a great monitor deal, with good performance and a great assortment of connections for its price.

"A beautiful replacement/upgrade from an HP w2207"

This was a replacement for our older HP w2207, so with the HP 2311x, we did get a slightly larger screen. It is part of the main computer hook-up in our home office, so it's primary use is for text, along with some photo archiving. It more than meets...

Thin; glossy finish; very easy set up; perpendicular inputs very nice a comparative hassle with the parallel ones on the old HP w2207); worked as advertised right out of the box; great price point value; another winner for HP!

Miss the vertical adjustment as on the HP w2207

DOn't buy if you use HDMI input

see cons. Don't buy if you use HDMI.

good price

There is a design flaw in this monitor. It doesn't recognzie HDMI input automatically. you have to manually choose it via the on-screen menu EVERY time you turn it on, as it defaults back to VGA. HP support was of no help

Beautiful monitor

As a 23" widescreen display, I'm very pleased with this model. I was actually shopping for a 25", but nobody in town seemed to have 'em in stock so... I settled for this. Settled, at the store, that is. Very good color - with an auto-adjustment feature...

Sized, and priced, just right. Clean, bright display, small footprint, lightweight, energy efficient

Lightweight has it's disadvantages: as the control buttons are edge mounted, you're actually moving the monitor (almost lifting it) when you press a button (say, to turn it on!)

Amazing monitor

I'd like to buy one or two more to complete my multi-display setup but I am really sad they discontinued it. I either have to buy a monitor that won't match my current ones (two 2311x) or sell my two that I have to buy a whole new set.

1. Amazing monitor for the price ; 2. I've never had any problems with it; I don't understand why a lot of the reviewers do ; 3. HDMI works perfectly for me; as do the other cables if needed

1. It's discontinued
