The HP Pavilion 27xi easily meets your basic monitor needs

The HP Pavilion 27xi is a relatively low-priced, large screen monitor that gets the basic right. If you're looking for something more advanced, however, you'll want to look elsewhere.

The ; features a beautiful, streamlined design, great performance, and useful screen customization options.

The monitor feels plasticky, ergonomic options are limited, and the screen reflects sunlight something fierce.

As long as you have no advanced demands, the Pavilion 27xi will meet your basic needs with aplomb.

HP Pavilion 27xi

The HP Pavilion 27xi is a beautifully designed 27-inch monitor featuring a bezel-less cabinet and a gorgeous IPS panel.

Great color and viewing angles. Sleek design. Good grayscale performance. Energy efficient.

Reflective coating. Tilt-only stand. No USB ports.

HP Pavilion 27xi review

The HP Pavilion 27xi is a sleek, affordable 27-inch monitor that easily meets simple monitor needs. That is, movie-watching, gaming, and general Web browsing as well as productivity. It's a no-frills monitor that includes the holy trinity of...

"Awesome monitor at a great price."

If you just want a screen, with great picture quality and a low price, and are going to use HDMI or purchase your own cables, and do not need sound, then this is a great monitor. The main monitor part is superb, with just the extras feeling a little...

The screen quality is superb, and the control system on the bottom right-hand corner is great and easy to use. The stand seems to be made of metal. It was easy to assemble the stand.

The cables (VGA, DVI) that are included are not good, and create what appear to be bad pixels until you straighten them out. There are no speakers in this monitor, unlike HP's own Envy 27. It is made of plastic on the rear, and below the glass panel.

Best Monitor I've used

This is the greatest monitor I have ever used. Most people would say that 27" for a 1080 monitor is a waste. I disagree, I'm a young dude with good vision but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the quality of this screen without high pixel density. I use...

- Lightweight - Stunning quality - Professional look - Glossy - 7ms response time doesn't hinder gaming experience - Very stable base. None of that wobbly nonsense.

- No Speakers (no big deal for me) - Vesa mounts have to be aftermarket

Good Monitor with Short Life

This monitor has a great display. It is reflective, but it isn't that bothersome. The colors don't appear washed out.

After about a year and a half, it started dying randomly and would require replugging to start. After two and a half years, it won't come on at all. I really didn't use it much in that time, so the actual life is probably quite a bit shorter with...

IPS at reasonable cost

What did strike me was how bright it was in the standard setting. Had to drastically reduce that to make it comfortable, but that is hardly a con. Overall a decent monitor. Let's hope it will last long enough to make it a worth while purchase.

This is a nice looking IPS monitor with good color and contrast. I can't say that I have done any color calibration or tests beyond the standard setup, but everything worked well. I had it setup under Linux and Windows, no issues with it being detected...

There is no height adjustment, but I knew this going in. Viewing angles are ok considering it's IPS, but nothing to write home about

Great if you find it at a good price

Overall a good buy for an IPS panel.

Monitor is bright, stylish and has plenty of options for connectivity. I got this from a box retailer for $204 and am very happy with it. Colors are spot on and I feel like I can edit photos to better realism with it. I have an older HP 23" LCD that...

The button/menu system takes some getting used too

As good as the new one I bought last year

Great deal for me!

I bought this refurb unit to match the same monitor I got new a year ago. I use them together side by side. I cannot tell the difference between them

The stand had a small cosmetic scuff on the back vertical portion of about 1mm diameter. I cannot see this scuff because my desk is against a wall and the scuff is facing the wall
