HP DreamColor LP2480zx

It's difficult to justify buying an electronic device that costs $2,500 or more. The HP DreamColor LP2480zx costs $2,500 if you buy it directly from HP, but you can find it for $2,900-to-$3,000 from other online retailers. At those prices, only...

The HP DreamColor LP2480zx has impeccable color reproduction and includes direct black level control.

The HP DreamColor LP2480zx forgoes direct color and contrast controls and can't compare, featurewise, to its competitors. Its price is a pill that's hard to swallow.

The HP DreamColor LP2480zx is a performance monster that costs too much for the features it offers.

HP DreamColor LP2480zx

It's not often you encounter a product that can shake up the marketplace. The press release may promise something that's "revolutionary," but that's rarely the case. With the HP DreamColor LP2480zx 24-inch LCD display, however, the product really could...

HP DreamColor LP2480zx Professional Display

Color critical work places high demands on displays, and not many LCD models are up to the task. HP is taking on that market in a very serious way with its new DreamColor LP2480zx Professional Display, and its low-ball price makes the display...

Review: HP DreamColor LP2480zx LCD display

Ever since LCD displays came out, professionals in the Video and photographic industries have not readily adopted them because they were not very good at displaying true colors. Over the years they have gotten better, but not until today did they have...

"Simply the best that's out there... nothing compares!"

I work on a DreamColor monitor. I can't afford one at home, but this monitor is simply the best that's out there. That's why they are charging the price they do. I can't find anything else out there that compares.

Unparalleled quality.

Stellar monitor!

I've been using this monitor for the past week, it truly is a wonderful monitor. Bright, crisp, rich color (makes my CINTIQ monitor look dim and yellow when used side by side.)

Still limited by LCD technology

I should make it clear that I do NOT own this monitor. I was using it in the school's imaging lab, and was very impressed with it.

30-bit IPS LCD panel (1 billion colors allow you to see things in images you never noticed before, though in many cases the monitor's gamut far exceeds that of the source images) ; Built-in calibration profiles are pretty much dead-on accurate for...

HP's claimed CRT-comparable black-levels are artificial. They produced by dimming the back-light, in much the same way that many manufacturers use to cheat with the Dynamic Contrast Ratios they advertise for their TN-panel monitors to achieve inflated...

DreamColor Monitor

HP has very little information on their site regarding support for this monitor and its profiling kit. I admit I went through a lot of struggles and frustration to get the monitor profiled but now I'm very pleased with it. Hopefully this information...

This is a beautiful monitor. I'm a nature photographer and work almost exclusively in Adobe RGB. This monitors built in profile is a real plus. In addition, the LED backlighting and IPS panel make for wonderful viewing for photo editing My previous...

Not sure what usefulness the display assistant software is so after some experimentation I have stopped loading it. HP's manual doesn't provide much information other than setup and connection diagrams. I could have figured that stuff out without the...

Excellent Product

This is by far the best computer monitor out there currently that can also double as just a monitor for all your video/photo/animation needs. Is it the best in all those categories? Maybe...maybe not. For me, for now....it definitely is. It all depends...
