HP W22 LCD Monitor

With prices continually dropping on 22-inch wide-screen monitors, they've hit the sweet spot where consumers are able to jump up to the bigger size without spending too much more. The HP w22 fits the trend, and while its $400 price tag isn't the...

Good performance for the price; HDCP-compatible DVI port; integrated speakers.

Only a limited one-year warranty; no DVI cable included.

Other than its integrated speakers, the w22 has a limited feature set, but its low price and relatively good performance make it worth a serious look.

HP w22

HP tries to pull a quick one on the consumer with their w22 22-inch LCD monitor. Featuring an attractive 5ms response rate and a 1680×1050 resolution, the positive energy stops there. Sure the $400 U.S. price tag is attractive, but as the old saying...

Aesthetically pleasing; built-in speakers

Cannot swivel or adjust height; DVI cable not included; faded colors

Unless you get the w22 as part of a computer package, this is one monitor you are going to want to avoid spending money on.

"Have had this monitor for over 3 yrs without problems."

Clear and bright; good color.

None. Note: I do use the speakers, so I do not know how well they perform.

Monitor took a crap after a year and a half. All HP's except this one have a 3 year warranty. How convenient. The sounbar built in was nice, but not all that great. I knew I should have bought an Apple.

"Broken and not fixable after 2.5 years"

Stay away unless you want to contribute to the landfill problem on this planet.

While it worked, it was fine.

After 2.5 years, it just stopped working. It would display a screen for 1-2 seconds and then go to black. I checked with HP support. Apparently, this is a known problem. Non-fixable. Out of warranty. Thanks for nothing. No more HP monitors for me.

I bought this monitor without knowing anything about it. The colors are a little washed out but when I picked up a Spyder2 monitor calibration tool it fixed the problem. Probably there are better ones out there but it has a pretty good...

HP w22

I was happy with the monitor but after a year and a half it crapped out. I'm getting all these diagonal lines and the monitor turns on and off all the time sporadically. HP told me it was out of warranty and there is nothing they can do. I'm going to...

"This monitor quit working after 1.5 years,"

This monitor was fine for a year and a half. It quit working, and I called HP support. They told me that it has been a common problem with these monitors, and that they can not be repaired.

This monitor worked for a year and a half for $400.

HP support said this is a common problem.
