HP w2338h

Three-quarters of the way through our product-testing regimen, we saw HP's unremarkable 23-inch display headed toward a verdict of 6 or 7. It has a couple of nice features—as well as a couple of odd omissions—but at that point we hadn't encountered...

Very good black levels; removable stand tilts and swivels; controls are easy to use

No DVI port; no headphone jack; egregious color-tracking errors; specular reflections

The w2338h performed surprisingly well in our Blu-ray test, especially when it came to the many scenes in Watchmen that unfold in deep shadows. But the built-in speakers are so underpowered that we couldn’t hear much of the dialog even when we cranked...

HP w2338h

The display is supported by a solid stand with tilt and swivel capabilities, but height adjustments are missing on this model. However, it does have a handy tray at the base of the stand where you can store your keyboard or other small peripherals such...

Good color and text quality. Full HD resolution. Stylish design

Limited features for the money. HDMI cable cost extra. Weak dark grayscale performance

The HP w2338h delivers solid color and text performance and will bring a touch of style to your desktop, but it has trouble with dark grays and could use a few more connectivity features.

The HP W2338H is great for the HD computer user. If your computer usage does not require the need for lots of HD technology then this may not be the best option for you. However for you gamers and HD evangelists that require great picture quality...

Bought 4 of Them / Continuous Problem

I will NEVER buy another HP product again. Bought 4 of these monitors. One of the four monitora had to be returned because the green or red color (can't remember which) completely failed. Another completely failed right after the warranty expired. Bye...

dark side , demo unit broke down in 2 weeks

It could just be rotten luck but I got a lemon. Are there quality issues at HP?

I liked the monitor until the darkness appeared, seemed crisp enough and the price is low

backlighting failed on this floor demo unit. The monitor might have seen some rough handling at the store. However, this is my first failed LCD monitor - I have some still in service after ten years

Image is everything.

When I first got the monitor I used the regular 15 pin PC monitor connector and noticed the vertical lines. So I proceeded to use the HDMI port instead, the v. lines were gone and the images are spectacular. There are plenty of controls to adjust...

Beautiful picture through HDMI

Speakers in the back, must use HDMI to get best performance

Clear picture but persistent, thin vertical lines

With all the monitors available, probably would not select one that has a problem, even a relatively minor one.

HDMI connection yields a very distinct and clear picture quality

Persistent, thin vertical lines. Quite distracting and unaltered with VGA or HDMI connection

Excellent Monitor!!!

I went to Best Buy and they had a bundle deal, which included a 20" HP monitor. They told us that this monitor would cost only $90 more. 23" is a whole lot different than a 20", and for $90 more, it was much more than worth it. Windows 7 has the...

1. Huge display, 23" is great for watching movies or playing games ; 2.It's cheap, a monitor this size and quality would cost a whole lot more usually ; 3. Using Windows 7's side by side window feature is amazing ; 4. Looks great

It's size is its best and worst feature. It takes up alot of space, but it's really not a big deal
