HP ZR2740w

With no customization options (aside from brightness), the HP ZR2740w requires you to accept it as is. However, is its price-to-performance ratio high enough to make its lack of options worth dealing with?

The HP ZR2740w's pixel-packing 2,560x1,440 resolution makes high-end PC games look incredible. The monitor also includes the full gamut of ergo options and plenty of USB ports. At $700, it's the cheapest way to get an extreme-definition (XD) monitor...

With no included OSD, picture customizations are limited to brightness. Also, a single DVI and one DisplayPort are all the connections you get

The HP ZR2740w sacrifices customization to deliver a powerful monitor at a reasonable price.

HP ZR2740w

The HP ZR2740w is a 27″ LED backlit, nonglare display with an impressive screen real estate and native resolution of 2560×1440—a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Ergonomics

No OSD; narrow color gamut

The ZR2740w is a good monitor but might be better suited for an office environment than for a graphic studio.

HP ZR2740w

An expensive display with lackluster color accuracy

Great contrast ratio.; Very flexible stand

Less-than-stellar color accuracy.; No menu system or customization options

The HP ZR2740w is an expensive display that’s posh and attractive on the outside, but doesn’t deliver the goods on the insideRead More...

"Its compared above with a monitor costing $250.00 more"

Good monitor

I planned on getting Apple's 27" LED Cinema Display, same size and resolution (glossy - preferred) but I wanted to save $200 - $300, so I got this one. The 30" displays were also tempting but they run almost twice the cost of this, but are 1600 pixels...

Zero bad pixels, zero stuck pixels. Lots of pixels for real estate. Big. I'm used to HP's 24" so this was a small and worthwhile improvement ; Affordable vs. the alternatives ; Unlike Samsung, HP actually knows how to develop firmware that works with...

Anti-glare coating. I prefer my 24" HP glossy coating to this one. It's hard to explain, but the anti-glare coating reduces the contrast as it washes out the colors. While this monitor is cheaper than alternatives, it's still fairly expensive and I...

Could not be happier

I would definitely buy this monitor again. I generally don't write any reviews but this thing is just incredible.

No dead pixels, excellent brightness, and a great price. This monitor blows my mind

Only has DVI and DisplayPort, but really any graphics card these days is capable of one of those so it's a non-issue

Monitor that works

Our facility needed a screen to display messages to our incoming guest. This screen did the job. It's light weight and easy to mount.

Great monitor, mostly

Great screen, beautiful quality, easy to set up and get going. Good warranty procedure. Too bad I couldn't do an advance exchange, though

no adjustments at all, only two inputs, the buttons on the front seem to do nothing at all. The first one I got died in 10 days, no advance exchange offered, had to do without my new monitor for over a week

Solid board after BIOS update

This board has a UEFI BIOS but it supports legacy disk partitions. I was upgrading an old system so all of the disks were partitioned using the old DOS partition system. The BIOS offers two options for CD/DVD ROM, one is a UEFI device and the other is...

I've had very good luck with Gigabyte boards, I've used a lot of them and they've been reliable. This board is full featured and with the latest BIOS it works very well. I installed Fedora 17 and I'm using it with a 27" 2560x1440 display, an Ivy Bridge...

The board came with the F8 BIOS, the current BIOS is F14. The F8 BIOS didn't work at all with the Displayport interface and the 27" monitor only ran at 1024x768 with the DVI interface. Also the F8 BIOS didn't come up at all when the 27" monitor was...

Great entry to XHD resolution

I looked at several 2560x1440 monitors, including Dell and Samsung models. I was leaning towards the new Samsung, but I had a hard time with the cost. Then I discovered this HP model, which received decent reviews. The biggest gamble was the limited...

super high resolution - great for photo work ; great, vibrant, natural colors ; flexible stand with multiple adjustments ; price
