I just got off the line with an lg specialist and after an hour i found that this monitor is an ips display. That's why it has such a slow 14ms response time.

I got this monitor at a reasonable deal and it's notably nicer then several of the other 27" that were nearby.

First off, this is not an IPS monitor, as Amazon is advertising. That's the reason I paid a premium for it. I may send it back.
