LG Flatron IPS235V

Specialized needs not withstanding, most monitor shoppers can boil their needs simply down to this: They want performance at a reasonable price with the ability to calibrate the display as they see fit.

The LG Flatron IPS235V is a low-priced IPS monitor that achieves impressive performance in games, movies, and photos. Its accurate color, wide viewing angles, and deep OSD round out an affordable and powerful package.

The chassis feels cheap, the connections are difficult to access, and the OSD menu is clunky to navigate.

The LG Flatron IPS235V succeeds by offering performance at a more than reasonable price. It has the connections you’d want, but the design you wouldn't.

"Great gaming monitor."

I Love this monitor and I plan on buying another one. I Use it for gaming on my

Amazing picture, Price, Refresh rate, Wall mountable.

Stand could be more secure.

Good for CADD and bright enough for bright office

Nice color. Good response. Fairly sharp text. These are good for the money. I am replacing two new 22" $350 LCD's that were not bright, had low text quality even in text mode, muddled colors, etc. These LG monitors are much better

Lots of bang for a little buck.

I've only had these for a week now, but I'm impressed by the quality considering the price. I was moments away from spending almost three times as much on a single competing monitor, but decided to take my chances with two of these (and glad I did).

I bought two of these from a brick and mortar store on sale for $179 (sorry Egg) as budget photo editing monitors for a photographer client of mine after her high end 6 year old monitor died. The color reproduction is very accurate, at least from a...

The monitor stands are pretty terrible (especially considering her old monitor had an amazing stand), but since the monitors provide VESA 100 mounting holes (and she's been aiming to reclaim some desk space anyways), I bought a couple monitor arms to...

Splendid!

I picked up three of these from a brick and mortar store, and I spent about an hour of looking at the tech specs of these and the Asus 24" monitors... and I ended picking up these. Really glad that I did. REALLY would've bought these from Newegg, but...

Decently Priced IPS monitor for the price ; Very crisp and clean picture from each monitor: Graphics and text combined ; No dead pixels or blacklight bleed in any corners. Was pleasantly surprised about this ; A major upgrade from the Hanspree HG225...

Kinda wished that the power-on lights were green (the same color of my "Riced Black/Green Rig") but that is not a major deal breaker [Because of personal preference ; Besides that, no Cons

Update to previous post

I posted before and said how much I like this monitor. My opinion of the screen image stands; I think the thing looks great. I did run into a "glitch" that you should know about. As I said before I use the monitor with both a computer and a cable box...

Pleasantly surprised - nice monitor

You'll have to play with the settings a bit. When I first hooked it up I was a little disappointed. However, after 5 minutes or so I had it dialed in where it really does look great. People have mentioned the stand; it has a thumbscrew that has to be...

I bought one of these to use with a computer and monitor for a cable box in my bedroom (all running HDMI). It took a little adjustment but once that was done I was surprised. Colors were very vivid with good separation; watching some things had almost...

Good monitor for the price, but edge bleeding may turn off some

8ms response time will satisfy casual gamers, although hardcore first person shooters may want a non-IPS with faster response

Excellent color, deep blacks, very bright, HDMI + DVI, minimal elegant styling, internal power supply, silent

pronounced backlight edge bleeding, obviously more apparent in low light conditions. if this bothers you a lot, you may want to seek out a different model

Initial Feelings

A case of "you get what you paid for". Don't expect this monitor to compete with those of twice the price (or more). However, if you want a monitor that blasts an old TN out of the water and doesn't break the bank, look no further.

Leagues apart from my Samsung Syncmaster 226BW ; reasonable menu ; cheap

Backlight bleed. While not so bad as to make me want to exchange the monitor, it certainly does have backlight bleed

Backlight bleed in corners

Nice, bright clear. Picture looks good to me under most uses (see cons) ; Price vs. size

There is very noticeable backlight bleed in all 4 corners. This is for the most part not too noticeable, but if you watch movies you will definitely notice. Whether or not this bugs you is up to personal preferences and sensitivities, but it irks me...
