If you didn't already have enough trouble sifting through terms like LCD, TFT and LED when shopping for a monitor, a new term has cropped up to further complicate your search: IPS.

IPS panel delivers vibrant color ; Wide viewing angle ; Intuitive OSD with real buttons ; Good input selection

Bland industrial design ; Average brightness ; Tends to crush blacks

While it’s not the brightest monitor in this price range, its broad color spectrum and surprisingly sound out-of-the-box calibration make it a good fit for anyone concerned with viewing images as they’re supposed to appear.

When I reviewed the LG IPS236V last year I gave it high marks for its overall performance and for being one of the first truly affordable IPS monitors to hit the shelves. LG's newest model, the LG IPS235V ($239.99 list), is also a good performer, and...

Very good color and dark grayscale performance. Wide viewing angles. Good small text reproduction

Light grayscale performance could be better. So-so feature set. Lacks ergonomic adjustments. Stingy warranty

The LG IPS235V is a reasonably priced 23-inch IPS monitor offering solid color and dark grayscale imagery and great viewing angles all around. It has a limited feature set though, and has trouble displaying the lightest shades of gray.

LG Flatron IPS235V review: Impressive for the money

Specialized needs not withstanding, most monitor shoppers can boil their needs simply down to this: they want performance at a reasonable price with the ability to calibrate the display as they see fit.

The LG Flatron IPS235V is a low-priced IPS monitor that achieves impressive performance in games, movies, and photos. Its accurate color, wide viewing angles, and deep OSD round out an affordable and powerful package.

The chassis feels cheap, the connections are difficult to access, and the OSD menu is clunky to navigate.

The LG Flatron IPS235V succeeds by offering performance at a more than reasonable price. It has the connections you'd want, but the design you wouldn't.

LG IPS235V review

Just looking at the spec list, the LG IPS235V appears to have everything you could want: an IPS panel, with its high viewing angles and incredible colour accuracy, VGA, DVI and HDMI inputs, plus a low price.

With an IPS panel and wealth of colour options for the ultimate in colour calibration, the IPS235V has deep colours, good viewing angles and contrast, and is great value

"Great gaming monitor."

I Love this monitor and I plan on buying another one. I Use it for gaming on my Xbox. Great color and great reresh rate. Some people may think that a 5ms response time is too slow and opt for a 2ms monitor but what you need to consider is that IPS...

Amazing picture, Price, Refresh rate, Wall mountable.

Stand could be more secure.

Good colours, matt screen

No height adjustment in the stand. To move it backwards/forwards is best done holding the stem when the screen is placed face down (e.g.on a towel) otherwise that flexibility (-5% to +15%) is not appreciated
