LG Flatron W3000H review

LG's W3000H doesn't look as luxurious as Dell's Ultrasharp 3008WFP, and it isn't even as smart as the 26in Samsung 2693HM.

Backlight went out in under 2 months.

My epicly budget setup ~ Intel Core i7-930 @2.8 ghz (stocked) ~ XFX Radeon HD 5850 (stocked) ~ Rosewill 530W continuous power green series (surprisingly is capable to handle my computer) ~ Rosewill Challenger case ~ 5 case fans (3 that came with case...

Was very nice to game on and for photo editing after calibration

Only lasted a little over 1.5 months. I was using it and then the brightness all of a sudden went to half. Looked inside the little vents on top and could see the lamps that used to be bright when you looked inside were off now. Going to have to go...

Excellent basic high-res LCD monitor

Perhaps best to run the backlight at its factory setting for an initial ~100 hrs lamp "burn-in"; but subsequently, using LG's "buttons" (bezel bottom-left control points) to lower screen brightness, can trim power consumption to slightly under 60...

I found my recently purchased LG W3000H to perform well thus far, consistent with its high rating in NE customer reviews and recent "award." However, neither I nor most other commenters have carefully/critically A/B'd the LG unit with similarly priced...

Issues mentioned in many reviews are that the W3000H has only a single DVI-D input, no OSD menu, and only an overall backlight brightness control (i.e., no "internal" contrast, gamma, or hue/color settings); but of course any suitable video-card/driver...

Great display

It's large and heavy.

Arrived on time and worked great out of the box. Love the touch buttons, the colors and contrast are amazing. Looks better then the old Apple 30" I have in the other room. Games, movies, and working on it are a dream

The LED light over the power button is a little bright when I'm watching a movie with the room lights dimmed. I fixed it by taking a perm marker and coloring over the light (carefully)

It's just so... BIG.

In hindsight, it is important to note that if you do intend to game with this beast of a display you will need a powerful graphics card. That is, if you wish to run your apps in the native resolution. As with any LCD, non-native resolutions will give...

It's huge! This monitor performs wonderfully in just about every way. The colors are bright and the 5ms speed is good for gaming. It even sings a little song when you turn it on

It's huge! It does take up a bit of real estate on your desk. Make sure there is enough room to house this beast before you make the commitment to bring it home

hmmm

I can't decide for anyone else but if you are going to drop this much money on a monitor, you can easily get a larger tv in its place without losing many "unique features" offered through monitors. Think about it.

This monitor works great. I am reviewing based on using my friends monitor. It is a great thing to use and is seamless witht he video card

Can't think of anything

Too expensive

Great update from 24" both resolution and screen size wise

Doesn't withstand cost/benefit analysis. Price for 30" held steady for 3 years already -- this is a misnomer in tech world. Today one can purchase a pair of good-enough 46" 1080p LCD TVs for the price of one 30" monitor

Perfect 2560 x 1600 Experience

I really don't understand why there's so many complaints about the color. I have a HD 5870 and everything was perfect from the start. If there's any problem with the color, like if it's greenish, then it's probably your bad graphic card or driver and...

It worked right out of the box. I have been using a Samsung monitor (T260HD 1920 x 1200 25.5'') for nearly two years now and when I received the LG W3000H, all I had to do was literally swap cables and put it where the Samsung monitor was ; The size...

The monitor was extremely bright and the contrast was just outrageous. I had to use the ATI Catalyst Control Center to bring down both brightness and contrast to about half of their default values before I could use it ; It's actually a good thing...

"FIVE EGGS FOR LG AND FIVE FOR NEWEGG"!!

Hopefully, as time goes by, the price will drop!

Using this LCD Monitor plus High End Graphic Cards equals Super Results! Decided to go with a pair of ATI 5870's and the result is "Awesome"! Rich colors, fast response time, assorted connection ports, etc... You cannot go wrong with this LCD Monitor...
