NEC 23 Inch MultiSync EX231W

A good quality monitor is something you'll probably have longer than the life of your computer. I know my 24″ screen has survived two complete system upgrades. This makes it ever so important that the monitor you buy is one that meets your performance...

Slim and stylish: only 14.6mm thick ; Low power consumption ; Fully adjustable design: tilt, pivot, swivel, height adjustment

Touch sensitive power button not always as responsive as tactile in the dark

I had a great time working with the EX231W-BK over the past two months. While it provides full HD and superior picture quality for both in the office and at home, it brings to the table eco-friendly features we should all consider when picking...

NEC MultiSync EX231W 23 Inch LED LCD Monitor

Up until now, we've largely been looking at LCD monitors for the consumer segment here on Futurelooks. That's changing today. We recognize that many of our readers come from the ...

Fantastic metal construction for base and mounting arm ; Very thin bezel is great for multi-display arrays ; No shortage of green features and functions ; Bonus USB pass through at top of monitor

Only single USB port, no multi-port hub ; Physical power button/switch would be better ; Vividness of colors not as vibrant as other monitors

I must say that I am very impressed with the build quality on this monitor. This is probably because it is a business-class product and is built as such. The metal construction is very good and it's great to see that the display can be pivoted, tilted,...

NEC MultiSync EX231W

This thin, LED backlit, TN-based 23in monitor is full of tricks, but does it have the image quality to match?

NEC MultiSync EX231W review

We see many a cheap LCD panel in the PC Advisor lab, offering full-HD resolution for sometimes little over £100. So what's the point of spending almost three times that for a similar spec from a name brand?

Image quality is not quite up to NEC’s usual high standards, but build quality, style and control features may make up for that, to provide a lightweight but well-designed widescreen monitor for the modern office.

NEC MultiSync EX231W review

Designed more for an office environment where it will be on all day, the 23in NEC was expensive and had a poor display

good value, not the best picture

We bought these as the standard monitor for work, not the best but definitely acceptable.

Excellent ergonomics (height, swivel, angle, and rotation) ; Don't have to stack the monitor on top of books or a monitor stand to get the appropriate height ; Cheap

Impossible to get the colors right, especially the lighter colors tend to look washed out ; Viewing angle drastically changes colors

Great Screen

Used to connect to a Macbook pro. Connections very easy to access. Screen is crisp and sharp. Looks great

So-so

Ergonomically, this is a great monitor. Height adjustment, a sturdy stand, and touch controls. However, though the image is sharp, and the colors vibrant, this monitor loses two eggs because of the top-to-bottom viewing angle issues. I ordered two of...

Plenty of screen real estate ; Bright ; Good controls ; USB port ; Great stand (too many monitors' stands are flimsy these days) ; Ability to adjust monitor height ; Cable management attachments

Awful top-to-bottom viewing angle - there is a definite tone difference between the top and the bottom of the monitor. I ordered two of these - one for me and one for my wife - and they both suffer from the same thing

NEC Display Solutions EX231W-BK

Well, if this monitor were full price I would probably want to give it 4 1/2 eggs. However, at $179.00 it's a definite 5 egg deal. It's a great picture for a TN panel. No, it's not the very best picture available, but it might be the best monitor at...

I just ordered a second one if that tells you anything. Very nice picture. Nice size. Good quality build. Stand is very easy to adjust and get right. Just an all around excellent monitor for the price. Nice, thin bezel

Took some time to get the picture calibrated well. Menu buttons take some getting used to
