NEC MultiSync LCD2090UXi

The 20-inch NEC MultiSync LCD isn't designed—or priced—for the masses, but it will appeal to graphics artists, professional photographers, and other imaging pros.

Excellent color quality. Good viewing angle. Generous warranty.

Very expensive. Mediocre analog performance.

NEC MultiSync 2190UXi flat-panel monitor

The MultiSync 2190UXi doesn't come cheap, but graphics pros will love the vivid and accurate colors of this 21-inch LCD.

Beautiful colors; excellent viewing angle; adjustable stand

Expensive

Setting up the display was easy. It has two DVI (digital video input) connectors and one analog port, to which you can connect your Mac. Once connected, the display was recognized by our Mac and automatically booted into its native 1,600-by-1,200 pixel...

NEC MultiSync 2090UXi Photo Edition review

The NEC MultiSync 2090UXi Photo Edition is in essence the same as the MultiSync 2090UXi that we reviewed in March, but bundled with a X-rite Eye-One Display 2 calibrator and NEC's custom SpectraView Profiler PE software.

There's no denying that the bundled hardware and software calibration kit make this great monitor even better, but we think the cost is simply too much to pay for a 20in display.

NEC Multisync 2090UXi review

It's a fully featured display with decent controls, plenty of inputs, excellent colour linearity and good ergonomics. But although by no means expensive, the NEC Multisync 2090UXi is only a 20in flat-panel, and has only average styling.

1,600x1,200 at 20in is small by today’s standards, so you might not want to use the NEC Multisync 2090UXi as your primary workspace. But the colour performance and the relatively affordable price makes the NEC Multisync 2090UXi a good choice for...

A calibration kit bundled with a monitor: that's the NEC LCD2090UXi.

Fantastic colour quality, hardware and software calibration prouces superb results, stylish and well-built unit

A high price for a 20in display

There’s no denying that the bundled hardware and software calibration kit make this great monitor even better, but we think the cost is simply too much to pay for a 20in display.

NEC Multisync 2090UXi

NEC introduces a fully-featured monitor with a budget-end price. Is this the best monitor for the money on the market? It could well be…

Fully featured display controls, plenty of inputs, excellent colour linearity, good ergonomics

Relatively expensive, small 20in panel size, average styling

1,600 x 1,200 at 20in is small by today's standards, so you might not want to use the 2090UXi as your primary workspace. But the colour performance and the relatively affordable price makes it a good choice for entry-level colour proofing.
