Samsung SyncMaster T27A950 3D Display Review

WHEN SAMSUNG DEMOED the T27A950 for us a few months back, we got excited. This 27-inch, 120Hz display looks sleek and sophisticated, and it offers a long list of features, including an onboard digital HDTV tuner, picture-in-picture capability,...

Pricey; highly reflective; difficult to calibrate; fancy stand offers few adjustments

Samsung T27A950

The Samsung T27A950 is a slick looking 27-inch desktop monitor that pulls double duty as a 3D-ready HDTV, but it doesn't come cheap.

Solid image quality. Stylish design. 3D capable. Web apps included

Expensive. Weak light-grayscale performance. 3D conversion quality is lacking. No DVI or VGA ports

Samsung SyncMaster T27A950

At two points earlier this year I got a chance to see the Samsung SyncMaster T27A950 under controlled conditions. Each time the monitor wowed me with its glossy presentation of movies with deep blacks, brilliant color, and a seemingly very high...

The Samsung SyncMaster T27A950 looks damn sexy with a smooth, sleek silver finish and a striking design. The monitor's OSD and Smart Hub options are plentiful and useful, movies look great on it, and it includes 3D support for movies and games. Also,...

3D performance in games on the monitor is disappointing, with no DVI dual-link connection included. Also, its price is high for a TN display

The Samsung SyncMaster T27A950 is an HDTV/monitor meant for movies and TV with tons of features and a beautiful design, but some will find its price too high.

Samsung T27A950 HDTV Monitor

Samsung's new HDTV and monitor hybrid the T27A950 is quite a bit more than just a pretty face. Behind its super slim carved bezel is a 1920 x 1080, 3D equipped monitor with 3ms response time and 27″ of widescreen goodness. That's right, this monitor...

Great performance ; Excellent presentation ; Rich in features ; Excellent construction

Expensive

And then, now we’re at the end! We look at quite a number of monitors here and though monitors are always fun, beyond simply progression of display technology they’re also not particularly exciting, usually. I mean, they display stuff, right?

Samsung T27A950 LED Monitor Review

If looks could sell....

Stunning looks; decent number of ports

poor color production; bad viewing angles; avg. 3D performance; no DVI or VGA; very expensive

The Sm@rt Hub must be accessed via the Internet of course, for which you will either need to pull a LAN cable or connect through Samsung’s WiFi dongle, which is not included in the package – quite a bummer for its price!

Samsung SyncMaster T27A950D

The Samsung SyncMaster T27A950D is a 27-inch 3D HDTV that also doubles as a computer monitor. It has a sleek, unique design that will please everyone and quality is actually really good. It also has built-in speakers and a remote control for added...

HARDWARE REVIEW Samsung TA950 27

Steve May checks out a mini version of Samsung's high-end LED TVs

The LED backlighting, which runs up the left and right sides of the panel, is very even – a benefit of the smallish screen size

Wi-fi isn’t integrated; you’ll need to use a Samsung dongle

Samsung Series 9 T27A950 review

A do-it-all screen for 3D film fans

Even LED backlighting ; 3D capable ; Integrated Freeview HD tuner ; One pair of 3D spex included

No integrated Wi-Fi ; No card slot ; Smart TV seems redundant on a monitor

Samsung T27A950 review

The Samsung T27A950 is a hybrid PC monitor and 3D LED TV with catwalk looks. While the telly component has the upper hand, there's much to recommend it to casual 3D gamers, whether using PC or a console. It's a fast, sharp and reassuringly exclusive...

Avant-garde design ; Great 1080p images ; Immersive 3D

Undeniably expensive ; Feels like a downsized TV ; Some crosstalk on 3D images

Overall, the Samsung T27A950 gets a thumbs up. Its audacious design, 1080p images and 3D performance all warrant praise. While this isn't a screen for serious gamers, it's a good option if you want a multipurpose monitor. Availability is limited --...

CNET reviewed the wrong monitor...

Basically, CNET should have reviewed the S27A950D if they are going to place this in the monitor section. The one reviewed here is not optimized for a computer and therefore is worthless to compare to other monitors. The T is for those who want to use it

Other than the price, nothing
