Planar Helium PCT2785

The Planar Helium is a beautifully designed 27-inch touch-screen monitor featuring 20-point progressive capacitive touch, MVA panel technology, and a nice selection of ports.

Excellent touch response. Solid color quality. Lots of ports

Some touch wire interference. So-so grayscale performance. No USB 3.0

As expected, the release of Windows 8 has sparked an uptick in touch-screen monitor production, and these interactive monitors are finally beginning to hit the shelves. So far we've reviewed (or are in the process of reviewing) a handful of 22 and...

27in touchscreen with superb contrast levels, but it's expensive and image quality could be better

It's a shame the Planar Helium PCT2785's image quality doesn't match its superb contrast levels, but our biggest concern is the price. The Helium PCT2785 is more expensive than the superior Iiyama Prolite T2735MSC, though, and we think the Iiyama...

Great Monitor

I thoroughly enjoy using this monitor. I was a little worried about the price but don't regret the purchase one bit. I would definitely buy this again and recommend this for anyone using a Windows 8 desktop. Just remember to change the down-scaling to...

Very nice!

I needed a multi-touch monitor to use for application development. This one works very well for that purpose. The touch is accurate and responsive, and with up to 20 touch points, I can test just about any application. The only gripe I have is that the...

Great Monitor

This is my second Planar touch screen monitor. The first was the PX2230MW. Both are excellent monitors. This screen is large and can take up a lot of real estate on the desk but I have them attached to a monitor arms. They are responsive tools for...

Great Customer Support

I learned from other reviews how to change the scaling with an ATI Graphic card so the touchscreen works right. But I was having a problem getting the built in speakers to work. I left a message on the support website expecting a response in a week or...

Very good with some design niggles

This is a very nice touch monitor. It is bright and clear and touch is very good. The price is also very good ... It came quickly and had no dead pixels. However, the response time is somewhat slow at 12ms and the extra USB ports are on the back of the...

Response: New to Touch Screen

Rick - Likely your graphic card is scaling down your viewable area on your screen. For example, an AMD Radeon HD card will scale down the area by 15%. This create a mismatch between what you see on the screen and your touch sensor. You will need to set...

New to the Touch Screen

Monitor works fine. I like the touch screen but don't use it a lot. I tried running it in 1920x1080 res but the touch screen and the win 8 icons don't line up exactlly. Still figuring that out. The next step down in res works fine.Webcam works good in...

Excellent Performance

Excellent in all areas. Can't fault it. Even extended warranty was reasonable. I'm not a monitor expert though, but everything is appearing to be a winner despite only three weeks of use.
