Samsung SyncMaster 193p Plus

The SyncMaster 193p Plus offers better-than-average image quality, auto-pivot capabilities, and conveniently located input connections, and its sleek design brings style to the desktop.

Stylish design. Good image quality. Fast pixel response rating.

Limited height adjustment.

Budget-conscious consumers and businesses may find the SyncMaster's $500 price tag a bit too high for a 19-inch LCD, but if performance and aesthetics are important, we think the 193p Plus is a real bargain.

Syncmaster 193P+

Design-wise, Samsung's SyncMaster $549 193p+ follows in the footsteps of the successful SyncMaster 193p. It has the same tilted, round stand--newly colored a shimmering silver--with a dual hinge to support the pivoting screen. The 193p+ updates its...

Murky images

Samsung gives the SyncMaster 193p+ a gray-to-gray response time spec of 8 milliseconds and a rise-and-fall response time of 20ms. Like all other recently reviewed 19-inch LCDs, this monitor received a rating of Average on our motion tests

Samsung SyncMaster 193p+

Uninspiring image quality makes this monitor a step down from its predecessor.

This update to the successful 193p line of displays includes both limber physical adjustments and software-based, button-free adjustments, but its image quality doesn't live up to the family name.

Samsung SyncMaster 193P

Between fine image quality and flexible ergonomics, Samsung's 193P is a fine option for anyone willing to pay a little extra.

Offers impressive image quality; has both DVI and analog inputs; includes image-tuning software; comes with nice solution for cable clutter.

Limited height adjustability; no Mac versions of utilities; MagicTune utility tied to IE and doesn't work with one major video card; somewhat pricey.

The Samsung SyncMaster 193P is a great basic home- or small-office LCD, but it's on the pricey side.

Syncmaster 193P Silver 19

Newer monitors have caught up with the Samsung SyncMaster 193P since we reviewed it in the August 2004 issue of PC World--and many have passed it. This time it earned a Very Good rating for text quality, whereas last time we rated its text Outstanding....

The 193P lets you make all four physical adjustments. Its tilt function is unusually flexible: You can tilt the screen so far back that it's parallel with the work surface, making it easier to share images with someone across a table. The monitor's...

Samsung 193P Review

I have been using some pretty old monitor technology for several years now, simply because it was working for me and because I'm too poor to lay out a wad of cash for some new flat panels. However when I received the opportunity to test out and review...

I thought that I would be heartbroken to go back to my CRT after testing the 193P, but truth be told I was actually kind of happy. I found the color to be a bit washed out compared to my CRT, but that could be because I had to turn the brightness down....

Samsung Syncmaster 193P LCD

Vivid colors, Less ghosting than previous models, MagicTune software, Pivoting screen, Small footprint

None

Surprisingly, there weren't any! Normally, anything less than 3-5 would be fine. When you go over that mark and you should ask for a replacement. I played around with the MagicTune software to adjust the brightness and contrast. One of the benefits of...
