Review: Samsung S27D390H 27-inch LED monitor

Samsung workhorse monitor delivers good color accuracy

Good color accuracy ; Quality panel

Bad ergonomic adjustments ; VGA and HDMI? Why not DVI and HDMI

Buzzwords and acronyms abound when talking about monitors. HDMI, DVI, HD, Full HD, 4K, and these just skim the surface. With the proliferation of super-high resolution computer monitors adding to the alphabet soup, there is always a need for a midran

Good Monitor

Overall this monitor is very good. If Samsung would have come up with a decent stand for it, this monitor would have been a GREAT monitor. I would recommend this monitor to others, but be aware you need to have a solid place to set it on or the...

I didn't buy the monitor from Newegg, but I wanted to make a comment about it anyway. The monitor itself works really well, no bad pixels and the text is sharp and clear. I am running it from the HDMI input and so far everything about the picture...

The stand is the only real downfall to this monitor. If Samsung had come up with a decent stand for this monitor, it would have been a real winner. As it is, the monitor is exceptionally good, and the stand sucks, big time ; The touch controls are a...

purchased 2 and both are junk

Big and low price

They only ship with VGA cables and only have HDMI or VGA input. The stand feels cheap and doesn't have many adjustments. I purchased 2 for a dual monitor setup. The first stopped working within a day of opening the box, the second I am noticing is very...

wobble wobble

This is a beautiful monitor that does everything it's spec'd to do

This stand is flimsy and mine wobbles too. This would probably not be the case if I had a hugely heavy desk, but shouldn't be a case no matter what. There also is no way to attach these to a multiple monitor stand; eg no screwholes in the back. The...

Beware! Dead Pixels

The price "seems" good, but you are paying for a cheap product and cheap services. I recommend spending a little more and avoid expensive headaches in the long run. Lesson learned.

Large (27") screen. Beautiful frame. After a month, one of the two monitors is still working great

Ordered two of these monitors. However, one month after purchase date I noticed a light 1-inch blemish on the middle of one of the screens. I contacted Newegg and was told because I no longer have the box I need to contact the manufacturer directly. I...

Great Monitors

Great monitors at a great price mounted on a terrible stand. They need some major improvements or better yet just add a VESA mount. Currently debating trying to place shims on either side of the stand neck to try to stabilize.

Running a dual setup and these things are huge. You really can't beat the quality for the price. Picture is outstanding. Zero dead pixels

Horrible stand, just terrible. Wobbles constantly at just the slightest touch of my desk. Could be because they are so big I'm just noticing it more than my previous Samsung's 22" and 24

best bang for your buck

1080p gaming at 60fps is the sweet spot for budget / casual gamers right now. I wanted a gaming monitor and was deciding between this and the Asus VX279Q and Asus MX279H. The MX279H has been rated as having low input lag. I'm guessing the VX279Q uses...

This is a lot of monitor for $230 straight up, without the rebate mess. Text is sharp. Colors are excellent. No dead pixels. It's a matte screen. The description is confusing. When it says high gloss, it's referring to the base and bezel

only 1080p, but you know this going in ; only 60hz, but you know this too ; no speakers ; the glossy parts attract dust, fingerprints, and scratches easily ; touch buttons aren't the greatest ; unsure of what the input lag is (not Samsung's fault, just...

PLS is awesome!

I was realllllyyy worried about pixel density of this display when I ordered it, to the point of almost yhinking I should to deny the shipment from UPS while I was waiting for it and get a 23.6" instead. However I'm glad I didn't! (and at the end of...

Fantastic view angles, really impressed by the PLS/IPS display ; Color Out of the box is stunning, and didn't warrant me messing calibrating the colors ; Butter smooth and I didn't detect the slightest bit of ghosting ; Virtually Zero Black light...

The only real con here is the pixel density, but thats a con that you should be aware of going in to buy a 27" 1080p monitor, yes the pixels are bigger, however everything is perfectly legible and readable with cleartype fonts

Great monitor!

Newegg, as always, doesn't disappoint on their shipping services. Ordered this on a Thursday morning EST and got it the next day. Will always shop at Newegg for my electronic needs!

I must say I was hesitant on buying this monitor since there were no reviews on here, but I'm glad I did! For a relatively inexpensive 27" monitor I couldn't ask for a better look! HDMI input is a plus and so far I have no complaints - no dead pixels...

None really, I mean it didn't come with an HDMI cable (but I mean what equipment comes ready with HDMI cables? None that I've purchased at least, so not worth removing an egg for that)

Great buy

Overall this monitor is great

I bought this monitor with no reviews which I rarely do but I'm so glad I did. This monitor picture looks fantastic when playing games and watching movies. I haven't put it in game mode since I feel there's no need too

The reason why I didn't give this monitor five stars is because the buttons on the monitor are horrible. Touch buttons are hard to work with. You press it once and the response time is so slow and it hard to see which button you are pressing. I...
