The Samsung SyncMaster 900IFT has a stylish slide-out tray with screen adjustment buttons and separate brightness and contrast dials. Its performance was good overall.

The first thing I noticed about the monitor was the size, with dimensions of 468x492x483.2 mm, the 900IFT isn't a small monitor and I had to rearrange the test bench a bit so the 900IFT would fit.

Big monitors are cool. But big monitors are also expensive. If they gave 'em away for nothing, we'd all be using 21 inch NECs or Sonys. But they don't, so we have to compromise. The question is - can you get a good-sized monitor for something vaguely...

Let me start by saying that most people would never need the benefits of aperture grille monitors, let alone a 19" model. You probably won't either. In fact, there are constant complaints about the two little horiz wires that cross the screen at 1/3...
