Sharp LL-151-3D monitor

The Sharp LL-151-3D looks like a typical 15-inch LCD monitor-until you peer more closely at the front-panel controls. Next to the power button, you'll find one marked "3D." If you have supporting software and a compatible graphics adapter, just press...

Goggle-free 3D images on your desktop. Easy to use with many applications. Generally good 2D image quality

Limited viewing angle. Expensive compared with 2D models. Only one signal input connector

Not long ago, you had to spend five figures or more to get stereoscopic images from a PC, and you'd have to wear special goggles in order to see the image. Sharp's new monitor still costs a lot more than a standard 2D model but brings 3D within reach...

Sharp LL-151-3D - 3D LCD Monitor

Sharp is pushing the display boundaries with it's latest flat panel monitor. If you want to view 3D images, but don't want to wear silly glasses, this is the screen for you.

Sharp LL-151-3D review

If you can justify the cost, you'll be impressed by the 'glasses-free' 3D visualisation technology that graces Sharp's otherwise unremarkable 15-inch LL-151-3D monitor

3D technology really does work ; Comes with software for converting still images ; Well-constructed hardware

Expensive ; 3D viewing only accommodates one person at a time ; 3D viewing takes a little getting used to

Sharp’s target markets for the LL-151-3D include surgeons, architects and gamers. The former groups may well find a place for the monitor, but we wonder whether gamers will have the patience to work with it -- or, indeed, be able to justify its cost....

Product Specifications

Sharp offers realistic 3D visualization for your desktop computer. Sharp Corporation's TFT 3D LCD Technology makes it possible to view eye-popping 3D images without glasses. Whether you are a chemist studying molecular structures, a surgeon preparing for complex neuro surgery, an architect designing the latest fashion mall or a super-gamer wanting to experience gaming like no other, then you will love the quality of the realistic visualization offered by the Sharp LL-151-3D. The touch of a button switches the display back to 2D viewing for such applications such as word processing, spreadsheets or e-mail, with the clarity you expect from a normal LCD monitor.
