Too bad it\'s discontinued.

I\'m a semi-retired pro photographer and my excellent Nokia CRT monitor died. I can\'t afford a $600 flat pannel IPS monitor so I tried this Viewsonic. It used IPS technology (In Plane Switching) which dramatically increases the viewing angle,...

Really nice bang for the buck

I was lucky enough to find a PA246Q monitor stand on an auction Website for $40. Because this is VESA-compatible, I now have an awesome IPS monitor that swivels/rises for a total of $219.99

Picture quality is amazing in both games and videos. I game in a dark room, and have not experienced any backlight bleeding, etc. as some others have ; Also, no ghosting whatsoever in games (Killing Floor and Mount & Blade: Warband so far) ; You really...

Bright, Vivid Images

Really like this one. Image quality is very good, comparable to my older (and far more costly) Dell Ultrasharp. Mine required some calibrating for best video viewing. I don't see any back light bleed (as another review mentioned) and no dead pixels....

Perfect IPS Display

After about a month of working on this monitor I have realized that this is one of the best purchases I have made monitor wise. I have compared this monitor to 2 other monitors both being TFT type and this monitor really does show the shame in the...

Great Monitors, Great Price

I bought two of these monitors about three weeks ago. One of my two older 20" displays on my Mac Pro died. So I decided to sell the remaining Apple 20" display and buy a matched pair of 1080p LED displays. Unfortunately, there's no way to really know...

Nice!

I have a decent well rated TN panel, and there is no comparison in picture quality. The ips is far better.

bright, beautiful color accuracy, easy menu navigation, price

Not the greatest looking( bezel case, stand etc) but that's personal taste and not that important if you are looking for picture quality

Good monitor at a good price

I ordered this monitor for my laptop using at home. The monitor has a wide viewing angles and area, and the price is really good.

Purple Glow

Most IPS monitors are expensive for a reason. I was expecting to get something similar to to the slightly-more-expensive 23" models available (which have also been thoroughly reviewed by reputable sites), just without the bells and whistles. Next time...

Cheap, fine for reading documents, browsing the internet, etc. Response time would be great for an average gamer, were it not for the major con

There is an unbearable purple glow coming mostly from the bottom corners when viewing it straight on. It's really the whole screen--it just depends on what angle you are looking at it. Unfortunately the angle this effect shows up is so small that it's...

Why pay more?

This is one of the newest monitors as of March '12 and it is apparent the cost of IPS monitors has dropped. Compared to IPS competition, this is dirt cheap. And quality (apart from cheapo stand) is very good with good color and sharp text. First thing...

IPS is best!

I'm never buying anything but IPS monitors again!

IPS technology definitely produces wider viewing angles and more vivid colors! This monitor looks as good as my wife's iMac's. Most IPS monitors are several hundred or thousand dollars; this new model sticks out as very affordable. Plus, Viewsonic has...
