HP ZR24w

HP's ZR24w has been around for over a year now, but remains a popular screen due to its high quality IPS panel and low price tag compared to professional monitors.

A sizeable monitor for sensible money: HP's ZR24w delivers a tantalising taste of the high-end

Great build, great image quality and a 16:10 ratio panel - HP's ZR24w will win many friends

HP has released their new ZR series that replaces the LP series. The new ZR24W is the 24-inch variant but this year both the 22-inch and 24-inch comes with an IPS panel. The IPS panel technology is suited for graphic work and discerning users who are...

Picture quality; Ergonomic functions; sRGB mode; 16:10 aspect; Shadow details; Price

Black levels; Brightness cannot be lowered enough; Minor bands in gradients; Energy consumption ; "Dirty look" from IPS coating

HP ZR24W is attractive because of its IPS panel and very low price. It's cheaper than Eizo EV233WH and Dell U2410 (at least here in Denmark), and priced similar to the NEC EA231WMi. ZR24W is definitely a good monitor but it also has some disadvantages....

It was an okay deal

At this condition and the extras you will have to buy, plus the possible return shipping for having to send a unit back, I'd recommend spend a little more and buy something else. I'm borderline disappointed with this purchase. Which rarely happens to...

1920 x 1200 resolution which is great for those needing more screen real estate. Solid construction. Price* (See Cons)

Poorly packaged upon arrival. The packaging was so minimal, I was surprised nothing was damaged. *-> Monitor came with a useless sVGA cable so I had to spend even more money for an HDMI to DVI adapter. If you build a monitor that has different...

There are issues with the scaler in this monitor, meaning 16:9 content will be slightly stretched to fit the whole screen. You can of course use GPU scaling to get around this. The newer zr2240w model is LED backlit, and the scaler issues have been...

Great Viewing Angle ; Good price ; Brightness ; Excellent Color ; 16:10

Not LED Backlit ; Internal scaler doesn't work correctly ; Brightness

Great, aside from the ozone

With its IPS LCD panel, versatile stand, built-in USB ports, 1200 vertical pixels, and reasonable price this would be nearly a perfect monitor -- if only it hadn't tried to gas us with ozone.

Great image quality and viewing angles from the IPS panel; USB hub is very useful; tilt/swivel/height-adjustable stand is good; the 1920x1200 resolution is very useful and increasingly rare as 1080p televisions have ruined the monitor market

Emitted very strong odor of ozone. People down the hall thought something was on fire. It's also a bit thick, but in practical terms that probably doesn't matter

Great if..

Nice looking, very sturdy and 16x10. I really liked this monitor. If you can get these monitors with out defects they are great

Well let me start. Two of these were ordered from another very reputable site. The first two were defective in the sense that one had debris in the LCD itself, the other had a cluster of about 7 to 10 stuck red pixels. Those were sent back and two more...

Really good monitor

My computer was off for over a month before I bought this monitor, and when I plugged this sucker in, the screen would go black almost as soon as I loaded a game. It turned out I needed to dl a driver for this thing...and it took me a bit to realize...

I bought this to replace my ols Samsung BW245, and man am I pleasantly surprised. I love the viewing angles, it's great for viewing your photos as the color reproduction is good, and I like how adjustable the stand is. I also use it to watch movies and...

Great Monitor For Coding and/or Gaming

The newegg photo is wrong. The monitor comes with a Display Port cable, not a HDMI cable. Response time is 7ms... I was very slightly concerned about that being too slow, but I don't see any ghosting or any other issues when playing FPS's.

16x10 Aspect ratio. Important if you need those extra vertical pixels ; Text looks great ; Brightness! I turned the brightness down to 0. Seems fine to me that way ; The buttons used to navigate the menu are intuitive. (Except for the '+/-'...

There's no single source button. Instead, you have to hit the '+' button, and then select the source using either the '+' or '-' button. My old monitor had a single source button to switch to the next active source. It's a very slight annoyance, as...
