3Dconnexion's SpaceNavigator helps you fly through Google Earth : Logitech 3Dconnexion's SpaceNavigator

If you've played with Google Earth, you've entered a 3D world within your computer. You navigate that world using buttons and icons on the Google Earth interface and it can almost feel that you're flying. The sensation could be better though...

For one thing you're periodically looking from the world to the controls to click on rotate, or zoom or move or whatever. SpaceNavigator, from 3Dconnexion (part of Logitech) can help with this. It gives you a single control that allows you to...

Don't hesitate , go for it

Heavy ( Stable ) , very well built , sleep design , and a piece of technology on Your desk . if you are rich you can get the higher end ones . but this one will completely satisfy any user . two buttons are extremely enough , Battery crazy good

Well , really nothing , unless if you want to be very very picky . i would love if the LEDs keep on during the use in wireless , for saving power the lights turn off , i would keep them on if i have choice

Great but...

If you are working with 2d/3d software (such as Inventor, AutoCad, Maya, 3DS Max, Navisworks, et cetera) then this will make your life a bit easier and better. This is not used like a normal mouse by the way; If you're just looking for a cool "mouse"...

Great for 2d/3d drafting/modeling and game development; offers loads of programmable buttons. I absolutely love this thing

A bit pricey and I personally feel that the LCD screen is a bit overkill. Occasionally reeks havok with a couple of my pc games, but that's easy to rectify

way better than the old notebook one

new carrying case, this one has a metal base and is more stable than the original one for notebooks. I am a 3d modeler, and us the desktop one religiously, but it is a pain to tote around. it is surprisingly stable for a smaller device, and has a...

airport security loves taking this thing out of my bag to look at it haha. also, cost is a bit high, and for cripes sakes logitech, make a wireless one

Great for 3D modeling

It takes a while to get used to it, but I like it. The blue LEDs around the control cap can be turned off in the software if they bother you, all in all its a good buy if you do 3D modeling for a living.

It makes navigating a 3D environment very easy. I use SolidWorks Professional 2009 with FloWorks and a little Blender on the side. Being able to fly around while you select multiple edges or parts is great. the buttons are easy to customize on the fly...

The LCD screen responds very slowly. when you move to the next set of button presets the screen takes about 3 seconds to reflect the change, not a really big deal because you end up memorizing the buttons pretty quickly and only need the screen for a...

This thing was built to last. I have used it day in and day out for 6months and there have been no signs of wear. Not to mention 3dconnexion is a branch off of logitech, which means you know you are getting a quality product

This is by far the best $400 you can spend if you are in the cad industry. I use this at work and it has cut down the time it takes to model a file or put together an assembly in half. You no longer have to fumble with pan, zoom, and rotate buttons,...

I tend to use the escape button on the device alot, in solid edge this can sometimes make your assembly, or part go invisible. To make it re-appear all you have to do is move the "puck" on the SpacePilot, not really a big deal

Product Specifications

To take a close look at something in the real world, you pick it up and examine it from every angle. It's so natural, you don't even think about it. Now working in 3D is just this intuitive. With the SpaceMouse Plus, you can intuitively zoom, pan and rotate models, exploring and navigating your designs as naturally as if they were objects in the real world. SpaceMouse Plus with its V-shaped cap naturally supports the zoom feature, its 11 buttons puts the most used functions right at your fingertips. SpaceMouse Plus is as essential a tool as your mouse or keyboard, giving you the ability to manipulate 3D objects on the screen, while simultaneously controlling 3D camera angles and positions for viewing those objects. It's a much more natural, free-flowing way to work. If you use a common interface, executing even simple moves requires a decision, then keystrokes and/or mouse clicks. This interrupts your natural motion, slowing you down and actually restricting you from attempting more complete or continuous motion. But, the greater flexibility and interactivity of a 3D motion controller makes even difficult moves easy. You're free to go farther and be even more creative. Place your fingers gently on the controller's cap. The cap senses pressure you apply to it - pushes, pulls and twists - and uses that information to correspondingly move your model, camera or eye point on the screen. Pull up or push down to move your model, camera or eye point up or down. Push left or right to move your model left or right. Pull towards you or push away to move your model nearer or farther away. Orient your model on the screen by simply twisting in any direction to rotate it around the X, Y or Z axis (pitch, roll, yaw). You will quickly be able to combine all movements and control your 3D models with six degrees of freedom. The amount of pressure you apply controls speed of movement. A light touch moves your models slowly and accurately; just increase pressure to increase speed. It will be like holding your model in your hand - interacting in 3D as you do in the real world.
