Apple Mighty Mouse (wireless)

The Mighty Mouse uses Bluetooth wireless technology to connect to your computer. All new iMacs , Mac Minis , MacBooks , and MacBook Pros come equipped with a Bluetooth receiver built in. We had no trouble connecting the mouse to a Bluetooth-equipped...

Bluetooth wireless connectivity (even works in Windows, with Boot Camp); batteries lend welcome heft; ease to install and set up.

Side buttons lack sufficient tactile feedback and require too much pressure; doesn't work with standard Windows-based PCs (at least, not easily).

Apple's new wireless Mighty Mouse cuts the cord, giving you the freedom of untethered mousing. The design isn't perfect, and Apple isn't shy about the price, but Mac desktops and laptops beg for as little clutter around them as possible, and for that,...

Apple Mighty Mouse

Like its namesake, the Apple Mighty Mouse packs a lot of ability into a small package. Though the design is decidedly simple, its four customizable buttons and 360-degree scroll ball are a joy to use. The $49 price tag is a bit expensive for a corded...

Attractive design; scroll ball is comfortable and easy to use; works with Windows and Mac systems; integration with Tiger is flawless.

Side buttons are hard to squeeze; comfort could be improved.

If you have Tiger, Apple's Mighty Mouse is worth a look, but if you're a Windows user or have an older Mac operating system, better mousing options are available.

Sleek mouse loses its tail

It's taken Apple a dog's age to come up with a multi-button mouse, and now that it's finally submitted their product, it's more than twice the price of the competition's roller-mouse. Initially, I didn't rush out to get one of these, but I finally...

Apple Mighty Mouse Meets The PC

The Apple Mighty Mouse works directly with the latest version of the Macintosh OS. However, this review focuses on exactly what you can expect when using the Mighty Mouse with a Windows based PC.

At home I work primarily with a Macintosh, and would not be without my Mighty Mouse. Being able to scroll in all four directions without moving the mouse is very handy. I was so fond of this device that I bought a second Mighty Mouse to use at work....

Apple Mighty Mouse

There are lots of other stylish mice with multiple buttons and scrolling capabilities. But they're not Apple style. If you want your multi-button mouse and its software to truly match your Mac, this is the mouse for you.

Scroll ball is an interesting new concept ; beautiful design ; matches Macs ; ambidextrous

Force-sensing button is difficult to use ; poor ergonomic design ; somewhat limited driver options

Mac users have been asking that question for so long that Apple's introduction of the multi-button Mighty Mouse is almost an anticlimax. If users seriously pined for a right-button to access the Mac's contextual menus (an ease-of-use amenity that...

Mighty Mouse

Multibutton mice have been a given for every computer maker in the worldexcept Apple. This changed with the launch of the Apple Mighty Mouse. Was the 21-year wait for a multibutton mouse from Apple worth it?

Product Specifications

Meet the mouse that reinvented the wheel. The scroll wheel, that is. Mighty Mouse features the revolutionary Scroll Ball that lets you move anywhere inside a document, without lifting a finger. And with touch-sensitive technology concealed under the seamless top shell, you get the programmability of a four-button mouse in a single-button design. Click, roll, squeeze and scroll. This mouse just aced the maze. In the beginning, there was one button. Then there were two. Then there were clickable scroll wheels and programmable toggles and solid-state slides. But nobody made a mouse as easy to use as your Mac. Until now. Mighty Mouse combines the capability of a multibutton mouse with Apple's signature top-shell design for the best of both form and function. Use it any way you work: Stick with single-button simplicity or click with multibutton efficiency. Time is round. Space is curved. Why should your mouse be linear? Plenty of applications require you to do more than scroll up and down. Mighty Mouse offers 360-degree scrolling capability, thanks to its Scroll Ball, perfectly positioned to roll smoothly under just one finger. Explore the farthest reaches of your files - pan images in iPhoto, view timelines in iMovie HD and Final Cut Pro, traverse bars in GarageBand and Logic Pro - with one hand tied behind your back (or holding a cup of coffee or typing). Mighty Mouse gives you room to roam. Touch-sensitive technology under Mighty Mouse's seamless top shell detect where you're clicking, transforming your sleek, one-button mouse into a two-button wonder. But the innovation doesn't end there. Apple engineers added force-sensing buttons on either side of Mighty Mouse that let you squeeze the mouse between your thumb and finger, activating Mac OS X Tiger Dashboard, Expose or a whole host of other, customizable features - instantly. Unlike any other mouse on the market, Mighty Mouse was designed specifically to work with Mac OS X Tiger. Up-to-the minute information on Dashboard is only a click away.
