Cooler Master Storm Xornet Gaming Mouse Review

There are plenty of input devices in the market that are supposedly aimed for the budget conscious and designed to be a “no-frills” gaming mouse. Every manufacturer's definition of what features a basic or entry level gaming mouse should have, however,...

Lightweight and easy to move ; Ergonomic and comfortable shape for claw grip users ; Long-life Omron switches ; Ferrite choke on USB cable ; Jitter-free on all DPI settings ; Good tracking performance on cloth or textured surfaces ; On-the fly...

No strain-relief protection at the base of the cable ; Positive acceleration and ~4.8mm lift-off distance ; Side button location would be better moved a few millimeters back

Cooler Master did a good job, once again, with creating another claw-grip mouse. The CM Storm Xornet is essentially a stripped-down version of the CM Storm Spawn but is not in any way an afterthought. Cooler Master kept the long-life Omron micro...

Cooler Master Storm Xornet Review

Cooler Master, like every other company in the PC hardware industry, is not content with just producing cases and cooling devices. Over the years, they have led the way in expanding their identity with a number of gaming peripherals such as mice and...

The best budget mouse, hands down.

I run on v75 of the firmware, and LOD and angle snapping generally aren't an issue. You may want to play around with the firmware versions, though, if the LOD is not to your liking or you want to change the prediction. The v7x FWs are for better...

Where to start ; This mouse is the best in this price range, period. CM runs mail-in rebates on this thing quite often, and it often drops down to $10 at that point. I was amazed by how good it was for the price ; I use a fingertip grip, so this mouse...

Although the sensor is good (ADNS-3050), when tracing in paint you can see a hint of angle snapping (despite the updated firmware) versus a basic optical mouse ; If you have large hands, this mouse is not for you - it's small enough that it would...

Way above average

For this mouse to excel, you need to go to their website and download the latest firmware, which is v75. I ordered mine in November 2013, it came with v70.

Good tracking, great claw grip ergonomics. High quality Omron switches and Avago sensor

Default firmware presents a ~5mm lift off distance. Annoying when you run out of mouse pad and try to recenter

Good Mouse, for a while

Im not sure of the Firmware update ruined it or if it just decided to poop all over itself. It started randomly disconnecting itself. I could live with it but not as a heavy gamer. I beat myself up for about a week trying to figure out why until I...

Good wide mouse for medium Large Hands ; Nice rubber side grips ; DPI On the Fly ; Good Tracking ; 5 Buttons

Failed after a few months

Zero complaints, wish I got the 2yr warranty instead of 1yr

REALLY wish I had purchased a 2- or 3-year warranty for the extra 2-3 dollars instead of the 1-year. Not sure if it was an option at the time because I probably wouldn't known better to do it.

b>One of my favorite features that nobody acknowledges enough about mice: the surface is such that there's no disgusting crusty residue build-up on the two main buttons from extended usage that you see on mice with reflective surfaces ; Very...

After a year and a half, the mouse wheel is acting all funky. I'll try to scroll in one direction and it'll work for the first "tick," but then it'll go in the opposite direction. Can't use it any more for either gamer OR browsing

Great gaming mouse for the price!

I've been using this now about 5 months, ever since my razer broke and i've been pretty happy with it. It's a pretty good gaming mouse for the price.

Comfortable,nice grip, good button location

Could've used some sort of DPI indicator

CM Xornet

I was thinking I was still under warranty when it died but it turns out I've been using it almost two years now, I'm buying another, I had thought about getting a better model mouse but this works just admirably for my needs

Good product, comfortable grip, accurate pointing, adjustable resolution

Consumer review by:

this is not a Razer size mouse little bit small than that. very easy to handle. two adjustable buttons on left side really helps

none so far

Great starter mouse, or straight up gaming mouse for anyone! It's cheap and durable. And it was a great buy for me!

accurate ; fits my hand ; easy to click scroll wheel without accidentally scrolling ; extra two buttons are perfect for any shooter game ; 2000dpi is easily enough ; cheap and quality ; good grip ; no problems for w8 to use this mouse

maybe to short of a usb connector to the computer ; dpi buttons are bulky but for me I dont hit them
