Genius Gila GX Review

You probably haven't heard the name Genius much in the world of gaming peripherals. Though not a new company, Genius has never been well known in North America and is just now making a serious push into the gaming market. Genius joins companies like...

8200 DPI sensor ; Solid build quality ; Useful driver software ; Good value

Difficult button placement ; Ergonomics could be better

Genius hasn’t defeated Razer, Logitech, and other enthusiast favorites, but it can stand beside them.

Genius Gila GX Gaming Mouse

Sleek design, 12-buttons easy to access, 1000Hz polling rate, 200-8200 DPI range, 72 macros / 6 profiles, 32KB of on-board storage for macros

Priced as high-end wired gaming mouse, may make your hand sweat, little separation between adjacent buttons

The best description I can give regarding the Genius Gila gaming mouse is that it resembles a sports car, and not just because it has what appears to be headlights and taillights. The shape in conjunction with red-on-black paint job make it look like...

Genius Gila GX Series Gaming Mouse Review

Strikingly slick, feature-packed, and pricy, Genius's Gila can do more than RTS and MMO games. It's a comfortable gaming mouse that isn't held back by its design.

Ehhh...

I originally got this mouse for its button count. I really didn't need any of the other features. The mouse is capable of 8000 DPI, but 1200 is comfortable.

Lots of buttons ; Can configure the extra buttons to keyboard keys

Independent DPI for X and Y axes? Very poor design choice ; Extra buttons are awkward to reach with long fingers ; Cannot configure mouse with Windows 8.1 at the time of writing. Had to configure with a spare machine running Windows 7 ; Driver software...

worth the price and reliable

plenty of durable buttons without clutter ; I like the design, it fits my hand well ; responsive to input ; 1yr+ ownership, still working like new

the provided software is clunky, but it gets the job done ; nothing negative to say about the mouse itself

Good mouse but has a double click problem *FIX HERE*

You can find this by finding the Genius GX Gaming Mouse on the Genius website and go to the downloads tab and you will find it under applications. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE PROVIDED INSTRUCTIONS OR YOU COULD MESS UP YOUR MOUSE BADLY. Good luck and hope...

The accuracy of this mouse is absolutely impeccable. It is wonderfully designed and the software for it is amazing. Programmable macros for each button, weight adjustments, amazing DPI and sensitivity flexibility to meet the user. Over all very...

There is a really annoying double click bug that this mouse is infamous for. This easily brought the mouse down to a 3 or 2 egg mouse but there is a firmware update for the lights that also fixes this bug

Not a bad mouse at all... but -

I would definitely recommend this mouse for those who find the button placement comfortable for them. It's nice under the hand, moves well, has nicely positive clickback on all buttons.

Plenty

2 buttons on far right are not intuitive in placement, left & right secondary buttons require abandoning common L/R finger placement which is rather distracting in game ; Primary Con - this the only mouse I've ever had that began double-clicking with...

Great Mouse

Almost got 5 stars from me because the mouse fits my hand like a glove, but the drivers are NEVER updated and see cons.

Great speed if you want it. You can set the DPI high, but it is never needed. Never buy a mouse for the DPI, it usually should be set to 3k dpi or lower anyhow

The right click will double click, and you have to use firmware from them to fix it

Great Mouse!

One of the best purchases I've made in a while. I would highly recommend.

First off, I love this mouse. Purchased on a different website to save some cash. Sorry newegg :( Love you guys ; Anyway, Plenty of buttons, GREAT sensitivity, custom lights (on, off, dim, bright, pulse/w speeds, tons of colors, different colored...

Nothing bad about this mouse I can't get used to with more time. And I do believe I will have it for a long while ; Some buttons are a little strange to reach for but I really don't need all of them to have easy access just a few ; The software is good...

Mine malfunctioned as well

I still use it. I just dont map anything to that key. I have worked around the macro issue. But I am in the market for a new mouse, probably a logitech.

I like the mouse layout and design. And it feels solid

The M1 button is faulty on my mouse. That is on the very top left of the face of the mouse. It will work, sometimes, if I mash the hell out of it ; I never got the software to work well. It never seems to save profiles to onboard memory ; Also,...
