Better than expected!

Read the instructions carefully. I recommend this pen. It is great. I usually rely on Newegg reviews but for this one I had to look elsewhere. I did buy it from Newegg though. Best price and convenience.

This is a great tool to have. I have recently moved from handwriting notes to editing power point slides from professors and reading everything online. That has reduced my bag weight significantly. Now all I carry is a folder and my laptop ; But for...

I have no cons so far ; But to answer the previous reviews. Carefully read the instructions and you will see how awesome this pen can be ; Remember not to block the clear tip of the pen with your finger and don't place anything in front of the sensor...

Didn't work as I'd hoped

Hopefuly iogear will make what is a very good smart pen in theory into something that works in real life. I think the older versions of the pen might work better. Also, it's a standard ballpoint pen with blue ink and a tiny tip...which doesn't make for...

It's a great pen in away from the computer and on any type of paper. It can also act as a "mouse" or stylus when connected to the computer, which is great for inputting handwriting or drawings/designs. The bundled OCR software actually...

Unfortunately, the pen only works well in theory--the USB receiver did not stay charged for more than 20 minutes before running out of power, and it was very difficult to get the data from the pen onto my computer (the Autoplay on the USB receiver did...

Great hardware, pathetic software integration

This product would be ok if you use a 3rd party software like microsoft Onenote. However, you cannot use Onenote 2007 with WinXP- neither component has handwriting recognition (after Onenote2003, recognition was passed to the OS- ie only Vista or above...

Lighter than a tablet, smaller & cheaper too

Software is appalling!!!-Technical support STINKS. Software is 2 parts: driver/ capture software & Myscript notes as the handwriting recognition/OCR ; When having software issues, we were unable to find the location of the uploaded files in order to...

It Does What it Says

I have bought tons of techy stuff over the past 20 years and love anything digital. That being said, I have never written a review about any of the products. I felt this was worthy. And of course, because it's true, I have to include the obligatory...

Does just what it says it does well beyond the expectations I had for this device. And as a bonus, the pen actually is puts decent ink on paper. I make notes on anything and everything, with the Digital Scribe I have a ready backup easily transferred...

None really, wish the ocr software was better but that isn't why I got this

Sad Sad Sad

Maybe a more expensive model is better but I sort of doubt it.

The digital pen would make a great toy for a child.

If you are "depending" on converting to text, FORGET IT.

Works adequately

I have not had this device long enough to state whether it is heir to the same problems as the Zpen. It uses the same technology (Epos' positioning). However, I would recommend this for students and instructors.

Works well enough to be useful. Bundled software does a relatively good job of converting handwritten notes to *.rtf

The clips that hold the receiver to the paper are not functional. I have to use a banana clip instead. This is a design flaw.

IOGEAR GPEN200N Mobile Digital Scribe - Retail

Not sure why the previous had an issue. Works great from the get go. The translate doesn't work well with my kids, but captures 99% of what I have written. Switches well between mouse and draw mode. Haven't taken it mobile yet, that's next

First shipment provided me with everything in the box but no pen. First time I ever had a big issue with the Eggsters and first time they gave me a less than stellar response. After some difficulties, they responded to the challenge, though at first...

I would not recommend this product. I returned it.

Didn't work well when it worked at all. I had many problems with just turning on and off and when I did get it to work it did not capture all I had written on a page.
