Logitech G400 - Is it a Worthy Successor?

Ask any hardcore gamer about his or her gaming hardware and you're likely hear a mention or two of the Logitech MX518. The Logitech MX518 is a legendary gaming-spec mouse and it shares the same glory as the other legends - Logitech MX310, the Microsoft...

The G400 is a solid piece of equipment, but the MX518 already was that. The G400 has a few changes that make it an even more lethal machine. If you already own a MX518, you're likely to be left unimpressed.

Excellent tracking; comfortable to use for long gaming sessions; on-the-fly DPI adjustment.

Lacks features and customizations found in higher-end gaming mice; no LED light display for current DPI setting.

Logitech G400 Wired Gaming Mouse

After 5+ years of constant use, drops onto concrete, and years of dirt and grime buildup, it was time to retire my Logitech MX 518. I was about to buy another MX518 from amazon until I saw the G400, which is almost identical to the MX518, save for the...

A comfortable and versatile mouse with customisable DPI settings

Comfortable ; Wired ; In-game DPI changing ; Good button placement

Not as customisable as other gaming mice

Logitech G400 review

The G400 is a spiritual successor to Logitech's legendary MX-500; one of the first mice aimed at gamers, it was sculpted to fit your hand and had buttons that let you change the mouse's sensitivity, which was practically unheard of at the time.

Accurate and great value - the perfect mouse, as long as you're right-handed

Failed after a year

Worked well for a year

Started randomly double-clicking after a year, which according to Google is a common problem with this mouse. Contacted Logitech about RMA under their 3 year warranty, but Logitech was unresponsive

Nice precision, flawed cord.

Apparently lots of other people have had the disconnection issue, If you don't keep your mouse straight during normal use you'll risk it happening to you as well. Logitech at least sent me a new copy and has a decently long warranty.

Lightweight, works well on a variety of surfaces, on the fly dpi change

Repeatedly disconnected after 9 months of use due to loosening cord where it enters the mouse

Love this mouse

Have had this for 2 years now and it still works like it is brand new. I would recommend this over any other mouse out there (even the 112+ button mice)

Easy plug n play, Not to many buttons, easy to use and set up. Wish it had the design like the mx518. But the newer model overall isn't bad

None I can think of
