CX500 review

CX500 review

By Martin Delaney

Discover a great alternative to Apple's stock iPod earphones courtesy of Sennheiser.

Easy on the ear, improvement over the iPod 'phones. Funky rubber cable organiser.

Slightly uninteresting black colour - but at least they're not white

Unlike some, they're very easy on/in the ear €" they're comfortable, and there are no overly harsh frequencies... you'll never get tired listening to these.

Jivo World Power Travel Charger

Keep your iPod or iPhone charged up wherever you are, with the Jivo World Power Travel Charger.

Dual USB sockets, connections for world-wide mains sockets

Doesn't ship with an iPhone cable

Although hardly earth-shattering, the Jivo World Power Charger meets a need and offers significant improvements over Apple's own power charger. The dual USB sockets and world connectors are a boon.

Pinnacle Video Transfer

Bring video to your iPod with ease with Pinnacle's Video Transfer. This interesting device cuts out your computer completely.

Good quality video capture, with files transferred straight from your video source onto the iPod or other storage device

Needs a PC to reformat your iPod - this can't be done with a Mac, confusing status indicators during recording

We don't have any complaints about the quality of its video recordings, but Pinnacle could still do more to improve the Video Transfer's ease of use. The device needs to provide better feedback during the recording process and, of course, needs to ...

iLuv i707

iLuv i707

By Rob Clymo

Play your iPod in the car with ease, using one of these handy gadgets. We take a look at some of the best iPod in-car adaptors on the market.

Looks good from a distance, easy to install and quick to program with the control buttons, LCD display works to reasonable effect, competitively priced

A bit rough around the edges, dependent on decent location of your cigarette lighter, somewhat lacking in frills and suffered interference on a few occasions

Once you've done that, you're free to listen to the contents of your iPod through the chosen FM radio frequency in your car. It works pretty well too although we ran into problems in built-up areas with the inevitable interference issues. The ...

Apple iPod Hi-Fi

Apple iPod Hi-Fi

By Dan Frakes, Mark Hattersley and Jonny Evans

Apple put a frisson of fear across the burgeoning iPod accessories market when it introduced the iPod Hi-Fi. This rectangular all-in-one speaker system is designed to provide the kind of performance an iPod user needs in an all-digital setup

Purpose built for iPod, smooth integration, good sound overall, battery or mains powered

Sound separation limited, treble lacks detail, heavy, no video out, no USB port

Overall, the Hi-Fi provides good sound with some clever features that set it apart. It's an attractive option for people looking for good, room-filling sound in a compact package, though some will prefer the better sound separation and flexibility ...

Tempo for shuffle

Tempo for shuffle Review

By Dan Frakes

Do you find yourself spending time in the gym? With the Tempo for Shuffle you can take your iPod Shuffle with you and use it to motivate your workout.

Keeps the iPod the right way up ; comfortable, lightweight, good-looking

Leaves the iPod exposed during your work out ; more expensive than the Marware Runabout

Overall, although the Tempo is among the least-protective 2G shuffle armbands out there, it's lightweight, attractive, and holds your shuffle securely during exercise. A worthy piece of gear.

zCover Windshield Clip

If you want to use your car window as a support for your iPod while on the move, the zCover Windshield Clip is ideal.

Good construction, wide variety of uses, flexible positioning of iPod

Suction sometimes fails, expensive for what it is

Most iPod users don't have the latest iPod integration system wired up in their motors. This handy gadget will work fine for many drivers, but be sure to check you've got it firmly attached to a shiny surface, or your iPod will fall. The price seems ...
