When it comes to compact speakers several have impressed us with their small size and decent sound. But the title of 'smallest iPod speakers' now goes to Miglia's MicroSound.
Tiny size, good battery life, left and right drivers, comparatively loud sound
Supplied instructions are too brief, remote control quite complex, not built for travel
We found the overall sound to be somewhat fatiguing over extended listening. But that's the case with most speakers of this size. What we did enjoy was being able to listen to podcasts out loud and on the go €" and it's great for brief music listening ...

When it comes to iPod add-ons, there's a dazzling array of choices, and just like any other industry in a boom time, some are fantastic, some ingenious, and some, well, let's just say some don't really rate highly in the innovation, product design or ...
Your iPod's appearance won't be changed
Hard see-through plastic face plate falls off, plastic hard to remove once applied, limited use
If scratch protection is your only concern, then do take a look around for films like those supplied with this product. But you're better off looking at more robust protection for your player.

This handy little iPod dock lets you sync your iPod nano to a computer, but adds an audio line out port so you can play your music through your home stereo setup.
Better deal than an Apple nano dock as ships with USB cable, eye-catching design, good sound output
No remote control, slightly expensive, no way to use as a self-powered dock
With the arrival of better-featured docks focused on integrating iPods into existing home-entertainment systems, this device's limited versatility makes it less than essential. True, nanos just play music, and for a small and reliable dock to ...

Announced in January 2006, Belkin's TuneTalk Stereo for 5G iPods is finally available in the UK. Its release fills a glaring hole in the iPod accessory market - the lack of an audio recording device for Apple's current iPod video range.
High-quality recording, line-in port, can recharge while in use, easy integration with iPod and iTunes
Price will dissuade casual purchases, lacks volume level indicator, no built-in speaker to check recordings on the go
While expensive, presumably due to Apple's Made for iPod tax, if you need to record audio with the ease of use of direct synchronisation of recordings into iTunes, then this lightweight device is an effective choice, and the first solution to actually ...

The iPod carries your music, movies and photos plus all manner of other content and with the right leads, you can even watch all the material you carry on the media player on a TV, or play it through a hi-fi. Better still, you can get a third-party ...
Navigate your iPod using the TV, can receive internet radio stations, excellent sound in this iPod multimedia centre

Griffin is first to market a new breed of dock that offers the extra features we need to make iPods a central part of the modern media experience. While there are limits to what TuneCenter delivers now, these are mainly inherent in the iPod itself. ...

It's frustrating that you can't recharge your iPod while you use another peripheral because the device has only one dock connector, but that's no longer a problem, thanks to Kensington.
Answers genuine market need, works very well, offers extra dock connector
Covers headphone outlet on iPod nano, retractable cable would be useful feature for drivers, seems highly priced
There's a gap in the market for a dock connector doubler that lets iPod users employ more than one device at once. While relatively mundane Kensington's affordable solution takes should be particularly handy for drivers, home users and photographers ...

Apple used to sell iPods with a power adaptor in the box, which could be used with the supplied cable to keep the iPod charged from the mains. An adaptor is an essential piece of kit for travellers who aren't packing a laptop - which is most of them. ...
Flexible design means you need carry only the equipment required for the country being visited, iPod cable supplied
Adaptor works only with USB devices, pricey
Having music on your travels is great, and the PowerBlock delivers here. While not the sexiest Griffin product, the PowerBlock has the advantage of being easy to carry, safety tested and having the guarantee of a reliable manufacturer.

Danish audio specialist Scandyna has produced a range of 'separates' that offer high-quality audio output. Here, we review its Dock package, comprising two Micropod SE speakers and a remote-controlled audiophile-quality iPod dock, called The Dock.
Powerful sound, built to last, compact ; high-end features
High-end price, poor remote control, lack of USB input and video input
The remote aside, this high-end iPod speaker system offers excellent, clear sound output and is a viable choice for anyone looking to replace his or her existing home hi-fi system with an all-digital setup. If sound matters to you, you won't be ...

Obviously trying to be a little bit different this iPod nano case boasts such features as a built-in mirror and an elastic loop that can be used - as the company's website explains - to hold a tube of lipstick.
Sturdy protection for your iPod
Superfluous extras are a bit gimmicky
The nano fling is a perfectly usable case with a few additional features that will appeal to a certain segment of the market. It doesn't skimp on protection, either €" the front flap and the back of the case are both sturdy and well padded, so you ...

We found using the Ambassador a very pleasant experience. Its most distinctive feature is the large metal hook attached to one end of the case. Otherwise, it's a basic leather case: you slide the nano into the bottom, then position a little tab over ...
Sturdy, controls are easily accessible
Plastic belt-buckle is flimsy
The above fault aside, the Ambassador is a very well-made case. Although we thought there might be a problem using the touch-sensitive controls €" something we've experienced with other models using protective windows over the click wheel €" we ran ...
