Archos 32 Review

A 3.2-inch screen and Android 2.1 sound like a winning combination for $150, but poor audio quality, a dim screen and numerous other problems prevent the Archos 32 from posing any threat to Apple's iPod Touch.

Voices in music and video sound faint or missing ; Fuzzy screen ; Limited number of Archos-optimized Android apps ; Slow processor ; Poor VGA camera ; No expandable memory

Archos 32 Internet Tablet review

With there now being five (oh yes, five!) Archos Android Internet Tablets on the market, it's understandably hard to keep 'em all straight, but in our minds the 32 is easy to separate from the rest – it, along with the 28, is more of an Android PMP...

Support for lots of audio and video formats ; Responsive resistive touchscreen ; Good sound quality

Lacks access to Android Market ; Awkward camera placement ; No speaker

Archos 32 Internet Tablet

This Android-based portable media player does more than the iPod nano for the same price, but is it a better deal?

For $149, the Archos 32 is a pretty good deal, so long as you're willing to live with some trade-offs. It's a solid portable media player that can also surf the web and access (some) Android apps. We especially like the wide range of supported audio...

Gadgetell Hands On: Archos 32 Internet Tablet

Personally, I have been checking out these new Archos devices since we first started seeing leaks several months back. Given that, and given I was able to find one in stock I finally broke down and pulled the trigger on the Archos 32, though in truth I...

Archos 32 Review

Quote from review: "Normally, critics chuckle with maniacal glee given the chance to savage a really awful product. But we take no joy in reporting the Archos 32, the company's 3.2-inch Android-based portable media player (or, as the company...

Archos 32 Internet Tablet review

On the other hand, the Archos 32 has a smaller screen, a thicker body, a plastic case, a lower resolution display, a resistive touchscreen, and no speaker, which explains why it costs so much less than an iPod touch

Archos 32 Internet Tablet

This tiny Android tablet has some good features, but the highlights fail to outweigh the shortcomings of this finicky device.

Good media playback; slim design

Finicky touch controls; hard-to-use virtual keyboard; no 3G option; not compatible with Android Market; freezes up after prolonged non-use; no maps or GPS functionality

If you’re in love with Android, just wait: More devices will be coming out soon. For the time being, though, if you need to buy a little media player for around If you’re in love with Android, just wait: More devices will be coming out soon. For the...

Archos 32 Internet Tablet review

Archos has long been at the forefront of the PMP market and by updating its portables with wireless connectivity and most recently the Android OS, it attempts to fight off competition from rivals and high-end mobile phones. The Archos 32 could easily...

Decent display, range of connectivity, good all-round performance, reasonably priced

On-screen keyboard can be awkward to use, poor camera, limited Apps on the Android OS, no microSD card upgrade option

As an effective evolution of the MP3 player the Archos32 succeeds, but we’re not sure how much longer these sorts of devices will be able to hold off mobile phones

Archos 32

Is it an Internet tablet or a portable media player? All we know for sure is that it runs android and has a 3.2in screen.

, but these features are not the devices raison d’etre to the extent that they are of the iPod touch. The small size, more than the interface, is what will put you off doing much Internet-ing with the Archos 32.
