Compaq iPaq Mini CD Player PM-1

Sorta slick With its silver-colored, iPaq-themed top, the device looks pretty slick from a distance. But hold it in your hand, and it feels just like any low-priced portable CD player, albeit a shrunken one. Of course, its small size (3.9 by 3.9 by 1.2...

Inexpensive; rechargeable batteries and charger included; good remote; decent headphones

Construction could be sturdier; skips when jostled hard

Though it has room for improvement, the affordable PM-1 is one of the better mini-CD players we've tested to date.

Ignore the 'No Skip' crap

i like the different modes for the different kind of songs

Every time i turn this thing on it has about a 1 in 5 chance of getting off the 'connected' part. If this happens you have to pull out the batteries so it can restart. if it gets past this stage, you have to have it on a level face or every time it moves

bad implementation, piece of junk

It has a very bad finishing and implementation. Doesn't play without the remote. If I need to have a remote, why put the buttons on the unit. Has some hiss like cassatte walkmans have, not silent like cd. Feels like a cheap "Made in China" toy....

Mobile crap

Overall, a nice player. The anti-skip leaves much to be desired. Although advertised as being usable for sports, it's lackluster at best. It either skips, or completely stops when being used and jostled at the same time. If you're sitting completely...

Not good for tracks that flow into each other.

A good unit but lacks the really important features. When the track ends it needs to spin up again to read the next track, leaving you waiting about two seconds to hear the start of the next song. This is dissapointing especially when listening to rap...

Good Idea - Bad Player

This Mini CD Player would be great if it actually worked. Compaq claims this player has 8 minute skip protection for MP3's. If you try to jog with this thing it shuts itself off after one song. Also, it only plays back songs alphabetically. If you want...
