iPod Classic 160GB

Now, this is seriously a monster of a player... with 160GB at your disposal, you can turn into a power user!

All said, if you're the type who commutes long distances and/or travel often, and want to carry all your music and movies, look no further than the 160GB iPod Classic. As of now, the warranty is global, so even gray pieces are covered. In any case the...

Apple iPod Classic (160GB)

Apple's refreshed iPod line recently made its debut, to much fanfare. Along with new colors for the Shuffle, redesigned nanos, and innovative Touch lines, the good ole iPod we've come to know and love has been given the badge of “Classic” and,...

Huge capacity; excellent sound quality; revamped interface

Sluggish/balky menus; no docking station included; requires iTunes 7

The Apple iPod Classic which we review, is slim, and offers more storage, but gives current iPod owners little reason to upgrade.

Apple iPod Classic (160GB, black)

The iPod Classic is the latest revamping of Apple's iconic hard drive MP3 player, formerly known as the Video iPod or fifth-generation iPod. As Apple's only remaining high-capacity MP3 player, the iPod Classic comes in both 80GB ($249) and 160GB...

The iPod Classic is just like the fifth-generation iPod with video, only slimmer, tougher, and injected with a more visually rich graphical user interface

Video output now requires a proprietary cable; audio quality has not improved; some older iPod video accessories may not be compatible; users are required to use the latest version of iTunes, which may not work on some older computer systems

The iPod Classic is a refinement of the formula that put the iPod on the map. Few can match its combination of storage capacity, battery life, and advanced user interface.

A superior update to Apple's 2005 and 2006 hard-disk based iPods, featuring cleaner audio, crisper video, better storage capacity and greater than promised battery performance at last year's prices. Available in silver or black versions, each featuring...

No longer Apple's "best iPod ever ; outdated 2.5" screen and interface are now steps behind Apple's best devices in ease-of-use and quality of overall media playback experience, while new interface struggles to match iPhone/iPod touch features without...

My biggest question: Does it work with the Apple Radio Remote? I don't use it much for radio, so if the radio isn't supported, it's no big deal, but I want to use the remote controls

"great takes long to upload music files from computer"

It is nice to be able to have a device that can hold "all" my music files that are stored on my computer. I like to listen to various types of music at any given time. The sound quality is good and also once you figure out how to download the music it is

First it does not come with instruction booklet and second the instructions on the web guide are not so easy to understand. It's taken me about 9 hours now just to download my music files off my computer. First time I did this it did not get all of them

Product didn't last 14 months

Nice product but it didn't last very long (14 months). Took it back to the Apple Store and was only offered 10% discount off purchase of a new unit or $129 for a refurbished model.

Great storage, good picture quality, good battery life. This product was great for storing all my music files so I could take it anywhere

Hard drive went bad after 14 months

"Decent but very Disappointing MP3 Player"

While I made this purchase with high hopes, I was very much let down in my decision. The iPod 160 carries a huge capacity. However do not take the number at face value. When syncing you will find a completely different number, more closely around the...

- Good Battery Life

- False Advertised Capacity

Product Specifications

Decisions, decisions. Who needs 'em? Why should you have to choose what to put on your iPod? With large storage capacity, iPod classic lets you carry everything in your collection - up to 40.000 songs or up to 200 hours of video - everywhere you go. In a completely new, even thinner, all-metal design, this iPod is a modern classic. The iPod classic gives your music and video room to move. It also has plenty of energy (up to 40 hours of audio playback), good looks (a sleek, all-metal design), and a great personality (a brand-new interface with Cover Flow). In other words, iPod classic makes an ideal companion. Why not get to know it better?
