Kindle Paperwhite Review (2015): The E-Reader You Should Buy

The Kindle Paperwhite just updated to a higher resolution screen for the same $120 price. I probably don't need to tell you it's better than the last Paperwhite. It definitely is.

Kindle Paperwhite Review

The Kindle Paperwhite is the first ebook reader from Amazon to incorporate a frontlight for reading in lower lighting conditions. The light also gives the screen more of a white appearance than previous Kindles, hence the name Paperwhite.

The LED frontlights and E Ink display combine to make the Paperwhite's screen readable in all lighting conditions ; It feels well-built and comfortable to hold, and the design is much improved over last year's Kindle Touch—it's thinner, better...

The frontlighting isn't perfectly uniform across the screen, and some screens show discolorations in certain lighting conditions ; Amazon removed all audio support on this model, including text-to-speech, and also cut the storage space in half from...

When Amazon first trotted out the Kindle Paperwhite a year ago, it was the first two-tone ereader in a long time (possibly ever) to have wow factor. And that front-lit screen turned out to be every bit as beautiful as Amazon promised. A year later, the...

Yes, you most definitely should! But if you already own last year's Paperwhite, the improvements aren't enough to justify an upgrade. If for whatever reason you don't own an ereader or are still on an old-school Amazon model though, what are you...

Kindle Paperwhite review

Amazon's Kindle Paperwhite is the best Kindle ereader the company has ever made, says Matt Warman. But can it compete with a full-blown tablet that's not much more expensive?

Yet the Kindle is just an ereader – for £159 you can have a Kindle Fire HD or a Google Nexus 7. These are tablets that will let you read books, but also browse the web, download apps and check your emails too. They have none of the battery life...
