This slickly styled player is easy on the eyes, but it's simply frustrating to use.
Slick design. microSD slot. Strong file support. FM radio and recording. Voice recording and line-in recording.
Photos and video don't look so great on the not-so-sharp screen. Uninspired user interface. Difficult navigation. Many settings and options are difficult to find.
iriver knows how to make good portable media players, like the venerable Clix and the Clix gen 2, so the E100 is a bit of a disappointment. It worksjust not gracefully or intuitively.

SanDisk's latest addition to its portable media player line, the Sansa Fuze, fits cozily in between the dirt-cheap and diminutive Sansa Clip and the larger Sansa View in terms of both price and size. It's possible that the Fuze was introduced by ...
Reasonably priced. Cute, compact design. A microSD slot for memory expansion. FM radio. Voice and radio recording.
File support is limited. All video and photo files require conversion.
The Sansa Fuze isn't particularly innovativeit's just another simple, yet solid portable media player from SanDisk. We just wish it had more robust file support.

Given Cowon's recent stab at a PDA and portable media player rolled into onenamely, the ungainly Q5WI approached the Cowon A3, another big-screen PMP, with some skepticism. I'm happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised. The A3 has fewer ...
Records audio, video, voice, and radio content. Sharp photo and video display. Strong file support. Excellent EQ.
Poorly designed joystick controller. Big and bulky. Mobile TV options are not available in the U.S.
This big portable media player does plenty of neat tricks, including recording video. It also had a big, bright screen, and its navigation feels similar to that of an Archos device, but more evolved.

When crafting MP3 players, Samsung always combines sleek looks with excellent graphics and easy navigationand the YP-T10 is a perfect example of this design strategy. But due to anemic file support and lack of a tied-in service such as Rhapsody (like, ...
Well-designed. Sharp screen. Intuitive interface. FM radio. Bluetooth capabilities, including call answering. Customizable backgrounds. Voice recorder.
Limited file support. Touch-sensitive buttons not very responsive. User EQ is weak.

we use it to describe an entire realm of portable devices that handle a wide variety of audio and video codecs. The Archos 105, however, is pretty much an honest-to-goodness MP3 player: It plays only MP3s and WMAs for audio. (It also plays WMV9 video ...
Affordable. Compact design. Excellent EQ.
Frustrating interface. Limited file support. So-so battery life. Display is prone to burn-in. Audible hum behind music played at low levels.
The Archos 105 can be forgiven for most of its shortcomings because of its incredibly low price for the storage capacity you getbut there are better budget digital music players on the market.

Plenty of MP3 players have voice recorders, but how about a voice recorder that also syncs and plays your music collection? The Olympus Digital Voice Recorder WS-321M ($149.99 list) plugs right into an available USB port on your PC, syncs with Windows ...
Lots of recording options. External mic jack. Direct USB connection. USB mass storage device.
Poor music sound quality. A bit pricey.
If you're looking for a voice recorder for professional use, the Olympus WS321M is an ideal choice. But although it can sync and play your digital music, it's not best used as your primary music player.
