This appealingly cute and ultraportable mini boombox suffers from a few flaws, but it's a clever idea none-the-less.

Simple menu navigation ; Plays DRM-protected WMA files ; FM tuner ; Alarm clock ; Can use as external speakers for other devices

Mediocre audio quality ; No line-in recording ; Can't manually scan through FM radio ; No expansion slot ; Puny 256MB of storage

I really like it so far. I was DOA (dead on arrival) for me - but a few quick google searches taught me to look for the reset button on back. The radio reception has been crappy in my apartment - even with the antenna. The speaker are great for such...

great sound, compact, easy to use

A kewl little mp3 player,good enough for a bedroom with handy alarm function and nice alarm clock.Sound quality is tops.

Why no SD slot ? come on Philips ; Avoid Musicmatch its pants still wont work with mine...Get Shoqbox buddie free its easy and quick ; Get the new 1 gig version

"A cool device"

 

Simple and Handy. Nice piece of equipment. No regrets

Memory is not expandable. Im limited to the built-in mem which is definitely insufficient for a big mp3 collection

"Still've not got one that works yet (after 3 attempts!)"

 

I had been dropping hints for ages that I would like one of these for my birthday and was delighted when I did get one - unfortunately I have yet to get one that works (after 3 attempts I am starting to lose hope of ever getting one).

Simple and Handy. Nice piece of equipment. No regrets.

Not as exciting when i actually got it, but nonetheless its a neat little device i dont regret buying. I also had the same problem with the startup, and was about to take it back. Good thing i saved myself the trouble and called the customer support...

"Great for portable music"

 

After getting a "dud" unit I contacted Philips support and found that they could be reset this was by plugging in power and usb connections and holding in the reset button (press unitl you feel it click) for about ten seconds. It fired up straight away...

Found the FM reception was much better with headphones acting as the aerial. Wish the light would turn off at night though, when charging, additionally , wich you could turn on the light at night when not charging so you can actually read the time on...
