Sansa Clip Zip: A Value iPod Alternative

When it comes to small MP3 players, the iPod Shuffle and iPod Nano are tough acts to follow. The SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip is neither as petite nor as stylish, but it has features in spades: an FM radio, a voice recorder, a workout timer, and a microSD...

Small, lightweight ; Cute LCD screen ; Includes lots of useful extras ; Compatible with DRM-free iTunes files ; Inexpensive ; Good Rhapsody integration

Multiple-source media transfers lack simplicity

SanDisk's latest competitor to the smallest iPods may not be as tiny or stylish, but it delivers a lot of features at very reasonable prices.

SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip (purple 8GB)

Like the bygone days of the horse-drawn carriage, the era of the MP3 player has quickly faded into the past. Today, the smartphone is the portable music device of choice for most of us and the iPod is now just a footnote in Apple's history, outlived by...

The SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip is an audio Swiss Army Knife that plays most audio formats, works with audiobook and subscription music services, can be used as a voice recorder, and tunes in to FM radio--all for under $50

You get what you pay for in terms of construction quality

SanDisk's tongue-twister of an MP3 player is a stupefying value and its practical clip-on design is perfect for the gym.

SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip & Fuze+ Audio Players Review

The smartphone might have taken over the bulk of our digital lives, but there's still room for the dedicated audio player, be it for working out or just wanting a convenient option. SanDisk has long offered some of the better, easier-to-use players...

In the intro I mentioned that both Apple and SanDisk had different approaches to their respective players, and as far as personal taste goes, I much prefer SanDisk's. While an iPod or similar device requires iTunes, which is neither lightweight or...

SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip (4GB)

The ubiquity of Apple's iPod and the rise of the smartphone have done much to temper what was once a crowded dedicated portable music player market. These days, the draw of devices that can do almost anything there's an app for makes a new device that...

MicroSD card slot ; Excellent sound ; Twice the storage space of comparable iPod Shuffle ; Unprotected AAC iTunes support

Low-res color screen doesn't do justice to cover art

While we question the usefulness of the added color screen, the Sansa Clip Zip is a smart iPod Shuffle alternative, with gym-friendly features and support for unprotected iTunes files.

SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip

The SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip is a wonderful MP3 player for someone who wants a small and inexpensive device. It is cheaper than most of the leading brands but can do the basic functions that most people are looking for in a compact flash MP3 player....

The SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip is great for students and allows them to record lectures with the built-in microphone

It doesn't allow you to access the internet or download games and applications

With the clip, it's a great option for working out, commuting or just as an inexpensive alternative to other flash MP3 players.

"You get what you pay for."

Construction is shoddy, won't last through the year. I'm switching to another brand even though it means I have to give up some features.

I LOVE all the features, the size, the ease of use. One of my favorite features that I can't find on similar products is the ability to record radio.

We have gone through 4 of the Sansa MP3 players, each one died from a different problem. Some had quirks I learned to live with: locks up when adjusting volume in radio, headphone jack positional, but then they all become unusable!

"GREAT sounding product for the price."

Great MP3 player for the price. It is just straight to the point: not really fancy but plays almost any music format and with GREAT quality. It basically sounds 3 times better than my

Great sound quality for the price

Lack support of online services like Spotify or Deezer. It wasn't really an issue when the first Sansas came around, but it really starts to be one now, with changes in music consumption

"Light, great sound, inexpensive"

This the best option right now for people looking for an mp3 player for the gym or jogging. It is super light. The sound quality is excellent, better then any Apple products or any

Better sound than just about all the mp3 players out there

Construction is sub par. Software freezes from time to time

"I think it's awful"

A good price for an inferior product is always too high. Please look elsewhere. I will have to spend a few more dollars to get something that works...The bad reviews are true.

Super cheap, expandable, some good reviews

Build quality is uber-cheap.

"Best MP3 player currently available."

If you haven't gotten an i-pod type mp3 player, and don't have any interest in contributing to Apple, this is the best MP3 player, by far. Ive had 3, and given 4 as gifts and I plan to give more of them for christmas this year.

The best qualities are that it is small, lightweight, expandable via micro-SD card, fm radio, easy navigation, easy file manipulation, long battery life, multiple file types... everything I could want...

doesn't connect to the apple-universe. NOT really a negative for me.
