SanDisk Sansa c250 (2GB)

Editors' note : The rating of this review has been updated to reflect the inclusion of album art support, a feature previously thought to be absent from this player.

The SanDisk Sansa c200 series player is an exceptional value, considering its assortment of features. It comes with a FM radio, a voice recorder, photo viewer, a built-in MicroSD slot for adding memory, and even a user-replaceable, rechargeable...

The menu interface is boring and screen quality subpar. Sound quality is far from impressive; there's no video support. The player uses a proprietary USB port. And, there's no 4GB version.

Thanks to its exceptional value and user-friendly features, the SanDisk Sansa c200 is an acceptable choice for youngsters and first-timers--but more sophisticated users would be better off shelling out a bit more for a better player.

Sansa C250 MP3 Player Review

The weather is starting to look like Spring, the skies are blue, air is crisp and the snow is gone. Alas, it is time to hop on your Crotch Rocket and actually get some physical activity for a change after being inside all winter. You decide to go for a...

Demo songs sounded great

No drivers ; Doesn't work, except for demo songs ; Expensive

So where does this product stand, you ask? Well, it works great for the five demo songs on it, but it's a little overpriced at $100 for demo songs and the Media Converter Software. As for as I am concerned, Sandisk should be ashamed of themselves,...

SanDisk Sansa C250 MP3 player

Is this the iPod nano killer we've been looking for?

The Sansa 250 is a good solid performer however not without its gripes. While the screen is a useful addition to the player it is too small to do anything other than view the menus for track listings.

Thanks to its exceptional value and user-friendly features, the SanDisk Sansa c250 is an acceptable choice for youngsters and first-timers -- but more sophisticated users would be better off shelling out more for a better player

Exceptional value ; FM radio ; Voice recorder ; Photo viewer ; Built-in MicroSD slot ; User-replaceable, rechargeable battery ; Navigating menus is a breeze

Menu interface is boring ; Subpar screen quality ; Sound quality far from impressive ; No video support or album art viewing ; Proprietary USB port ; No 4GB version

To transfer music to the Sansa c200, you use the included USB cable to connect the player to either a Windows or Mac PC. Note that you'll need to first select the mode -- MTP or MSC, respectively -- in the settings menu. Mac users can simply use the...

SanDisk Sansa c250

The e250 has an impressive range of features for the low price, but sound quality is less than stellar.

Exceptional value considering the features ; User-replaceable, rechargeable battery ; Navigating menus is a breeze

Menu interface is boring and screen quality subpar ; Sound quality is far from impressive ; No video support or album art viewing ; Proprietary USB port

SanDisk isn't known for its stellar audio quality, and the c200 keeps up the tradition. Sound quality is fair to poor; music sounded flat, bass-deficient, and slightly tinny when listening with the included earbuds. Swapping in a set of Shure E4c...
