DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE

My boss bought this for me to transcribe medical records. It worked fine for 6 months or so but now you can not hear clearly; muffled sound and the volume goes up and down. From the beginning when you set the volume high you still could not hear good...

Good deal

I was pleased with the equipment I received, a microcassette transcriber. It is used daily by my secretary so is essential to my business. After several weeks of use, the equipment appears reliable.

I would buy this product again

My old machine was a Sanyo, which worked fine, that is until it broke for the 2nd time. I bought this one, (1) for price; (2) in stock. it works fine, volume isn't the best though. I have the dial all the way to max and at times it's lower than it...

I got what I paid for

I'm a medical transcriptionist who types approximately 4 hours daily. This machine clicked very loudly with every foot pedal press or release. Also, with no erase feature I could not erase my tapes, very inconvenient! But, this was the cheapest...

TOTAL JUNK!

This is a miserable piece of junk. We had one that didn't work right; the volume starts out loud, then drifts quickly down to nothing. So we bought another, as this was the only model our supplier carried. The new one is exactly the same. Unless you...

Audio was poor

I was very impressed with how fast the product arrived! It was basically all set up and ready to go. I was very disappointed with the audio. There were times when the tape sounded so muffled I couldn't catch the voice. When I backed it up and replayed...

disappointing

The volume control is inadequate. When turned to the loudest level, it is almost impossible to hear the recording. The quality of the recording is muffled and garbled, requiring multiple times of backing up to re-listen.

Three in FIVE years!

When I started at my office I used the Sony M-2000 they had here. Since then, that machine died and we've now gone through 2 more of the same machine (the compatible foot pedals have also had short lives in our experience). It feels like for the past 5...

Product Specifications

Here's the Sony "give and take" machine. The sleekly handsome M-2000 "takes" dictation, records meetings, interviews, even phone conversations, using convenient microcassettes in two speeds. Then it "gives" what's been recorded, playing it back for transcribing or just listening. The M-2000 has an automatic backspace that replays the last few seconds for transcribing confirmation, and variable playback speed for greater transcribing accuracy. Compact design needs little desk space. Foot control and listening device are included.
