I would buy this product again

My old machine was a Sanyo, which worked fine, that is until it broke for the 2nd time. I bought this one, (1) for price; (2) in stock. it works fine, volume isn't the best though. I have the dial all the way to max and at times it's lower than it...

I got what I paid for

I'm a medical transcriptionist who types approximately 4 hours daily. This machine clicked very loudly with every foot pedal press or release. Also, with no erase feature I could not erase my tapes, very inconvenient! But, this was the cheapest...

disappointing

The volume control is inadequate. When turned to the loudest level, it is almost impossible to hear the recording. The quality of the recording is muffled and garbled, requiring multiple times of backing up to re-listen.

Very disappointed!!!!

This machine worked like a champ for the first month and a half, now I can barely hear the tapes my boss dictates, and he isn't a quiet person. Would never recommend.

Best transcriber I have had in 30+ years

Need a clear sounding, precisely audible unit that can be adjusted to various people's diction. This unit allows that freedom. Nice headset and foot pedal; better than other models used in the past. Just wish it were not the only unit Staples...

MISSING AN IMPORTANT FEATURE!

This product has NO erase feature. I find myself listening to what was left on the tape after the new recording, trying to determine whether I already typed what was on it. Hate this. Makes the machine inefficient!

Trascriber is very good - earphones bad

I use this for business. If the earphones are bad then increase the price and include good earphones. I would recommend with earphone upgrade.

High Quality Sound,Reliable,System is 5 star BUT

Product Specifications

Here's the Sony "give and take" machine. The sleekly handsome M-2000 "takes" dictation, records meetings, interviews, even phone conversations, using convenient microcassettes in two speeds. Then it "gives" what's been recorded, playing it back for transcribing or just listening. The M-2000 has an automatic backspace that replays the last few seconds for transcribing confirmation, and variable playback speed for greater transcribing accuracy. Compact design needs little desk space. Foot control and listening device are included.
