Sony's MZ-NH600 is a digital player that brings a lot to the table - removable, rewritable 1 GB disc capacity, great sound and versatility - but it lacks that all-important 'cool' factor.

Sony MZ-NH600 Hi-MD Walkman

 

Nobody seems to notice, you can record from an analog input with this device. It can work just like a cassette deck but records digitally. Also allows analog recordings to be devided into tracks on the device.

Can record anything from digital or analog source. AA battery

Sony proprietary format. No microphone input (for that, you have to up the range)

This is my third MD player and by far the best

It uses AA batteries, they last 20 hours and I never have to worry about finding a wall outlet on a trip (just a 7-11)

Not enough people think they are cool. Could use a back light
