Cowon iAudio D2

Cowon D2+ [Review]

By Prasad Naik

Not much different from the previous model but a solid performer nonetheless

Great sound quality, good display, plenty of sound customization options, expandable memory, great battery life

No AAC format support, no dedicated music keys, UI design could be more intuitive, too thick, not much differences from the older model

Philips PET723 Portable DVD Player

A stylish but expensive portable DVD player

Good looks, 7" 16:9 display, DivX play back, SD card slot, TV-Out

Bit bulky, no USB port, battery life with DVD playback is unimpressive, expensive for what it offers

Tata Sky Plus

Tata Sky Plus

By Rohan Naravane

A set-top box that lets you record, pause and rewind live TV!

As time went by, we did see a couple of disc-recorders come in the market, but they didn't do as well as the VCRs had done in the past; probably because a CD could hold only 80 minutes of video. Whatever the reasons may be, TV recording as a concept ...

Aigo MP-F598 2GB Media Player

Aigo MP-F598 2GB Media Player

By Rohan Naravane

A decent audio-visual entertainer that doesn't burn a hole in your pocket.

Above average sound quality, Add-on features like FM, Voice recorder and a miniSD card slot, Well priced

Horribly slow data transfer rate, Low-resolution screen, Plasticy body, No multi-tasking

The Aigo MP-F598 2GB player costs Rs. 3000 with a 1-year warranty. Comparatively speaking, the Transcend T.Sonic 850 has double the memory (4GB) and sells for around the same price. If you want a slightly better audio and video quality than the ...

Samsung YP-S2

Samsung's little 'Pebble' tries to give other screen-less MP3 players a run for their money.

Stylish and elegant design, Pendant-style wearing, Ultra-light and Compact, Good audio quality, Good battery life

No folder-skip option, Slow data transfer rates, Spartan feature list

This 'Smart' button basically shuffles between the 3 sound-enhancing EQ presets while playing a song. When it is pressed-and-held, it selects the play mode (such as shuffle, repeat and normal). One thing I thought was missing is the 'folder-skip' ...

Apple iPod Classic (6th Gen)

iPod Classic

By Aniket Kadam

The Classic is for those who want the video playing capabilities of the iPod without the limiting size of the iPod Touch.

Good battery life, Crisp screen, Excellent interface, Large capacity, Excellent sound quality, Good design

Unresponsive click wheel, Restricted to iTunes

The iPod Classic goes for Rs.15,000 for the 120GB version, which is just about what an 8GB touch will cost you. Depending on whether you want the larger storage space and actual music or just a better convergence device you could make your choice ...

Apple iPod Nano (4th Gen)

Apple iPod Nano 4G

By Rohan Naravane

It's ridiculously slim and blessed with some new bells and whistles. We take a close look at the 4th generation of the iPod Nano.

Ultra-sleek and Light-weight, Built-in Accelerometer, Good audio and video quality, Decent battery life, Intuitive User Interface, Good data transfer rates

Drag-n-drop of media not possible, Screen a bit too small for videos, Basic features like FM radio and voice recorder still missing
