Review of Acer Aspire One A110

Netbooks seem to be the most fashionable gadget to have around. It started out with being as simple as a netbook can get and now, there's a whole different package with multi-features and different designs to pick from. Meanwhile, the …

On the whole, Acer as the brand has rarely been labeled as a ‘let-down’. That said, Acer Aspire One A110 is a basic netbook with basic features and the keyboard is great to be used so go for it if you don't mind a simple gadget on hand.

Refurbished Acer Aspire One AOA 110-1722 Netbook

Most netbooks are less expensive than larger laptop computers, but many of us may still be deterred by the price of certain desirable netbooks. There are a fair number of ...

Great value for your money ; Nice keyboard with friendly layout ; Linpus Linux is remarkably fast, even with 512MB of RAM ; LED-backlit display

Glossy surface attracts lots of fingerprints, especially on palm rest ; Trackpad and button design is odd ; Less than desirable specs, including 3-cell battery, 8GB storage, 512MB RAM ; Performance not quite as good as competitors ; Provided protective...

That said, I was quite pleased to see that the contents of the box were well protected with soft foam inserts rather than with the standard Styrofoam that you find everywhere else. Since you don’t get any formed Styrofoam, however, the contents of the...

With the likes of Facebook and MSN taking over the internet it was only a matter of time until laptop developers started making machines made to do just that, internet surfing. Add that with the huge arrange of mobile internet connections available for...

Acer Aspire One A110-L – A little pearl

This year, netbooks are all the rage in the area of laptop computers. I have been given the great honour of reviewing Acer's take on a netbook, namely the Acer Aspire One.

Ultra compact ; Boots incredibly fast ; Free operating system that lowers price ; Good software suite that matches Windows' supply of programs ; Stunning design ; Compact AC adapter

Trouble with more demanding websites ; AVI and assorted codecs don't work right off the bat ; Requires knowledge of Linux if you want to install new programs ; Basic users are forced to use the programs the folk at Acer have picked out

Acer has made a neat and slick little netbook that can easily compete with the Asus Eee. The computer is the perfect companion for those on the go, in school, one the train, in the bed, in the sofa, and all other places where a normal laptop can be...

The very essence of the modern netbook: small, cheap, decent performance, lousy battery life

The Aspire One is everything a Small, Cheap, Computer should be. The build quality is excellent, the feature list is not half bad, and it certainly looks and feels the part. Indeed, it's the best-looking SCC we've seen. On the down side, the standard...

Acer Aspire One AOA110-1295 Notebook

The OS shell is both functional and lame. This netbook is very suitable for travel and easily running common apps, such as web, email, Open Office, some games and IM. Die-hard linux fans would probably override the native linpus linux with gnome or...

Fast startup, >30 seconds, true 8G SSD drive, not a hybrid ssd/sd-ram,OS + apps take only 3.5G,expand user storage space w/sd-ram card, easy wi-fi connect, webcam OK, keyboard OK, not too cram

Per Acer, does *not* accept sdhc cards, battery life >3.5 hours w/dim screen,no network browsing,OS shell does not accept new apps, no desktop icons, system RAM upgrades must be done by Acer.

Great net gadget

Screen is just small enough that the new Facebook profiles shift down instead of being 2 columns, making you have to scroll past the left column to see content. I still think I like it better than the other brand Linux netbook I bought my daughter.

Small, easy to use, very customizable if you know how to tweak - based on Fedora Linux. Has external ports for anything you might want to do

Battery life, somewhat weaker wireless than a good full sized notebook. Processor just slow enough that full screen hulu.com doesn't quite play smoothly
