Acer versus Samsung: Which Chromebook is Better?

The Acer Chromebook is the clear winner here. It's cheaper, it's smaller, it has a better screen, and it has virtually the same specifications as the Samsung Series 5. And have I mentioned the HDMI support? The Samsung Series 5 might look a bit...

Acer AC700 Chromebook review

The rebirth of the Chromebook seriously misfires

Chrome OS ; Battery life

Poor build quality ; Reliant on internet connection ; No local storage ; External storage issues ; Dull screen

Simply the best piece of technology I've ever used

Wow. Wow, wow, wow. I have to admit, I was apprehensive about this purchase. Even though I'd had plenty of experience with the Chrome web store and the browser itself, and even though I've owned an Android phone for several years and have long had my...

Fast startup ; Minimalist design and software ; fast, fast, fast ; The amount of web apps out there now is MINDBOGGLING ; Good battery life ; Great Screen ; Much better than average touch-pad

If you're not already in the cloud (i.e. you're still using Microsoft Office, iTunes, keeping your photos and videos on a hard drive, etc.), this will be a headache to set up to say the least ; Not the most innovative build quality in the world

Great for what it is meant to do

If you are looking for a netbook I would say the Chromebook is the way to go. There have been some issues but everything has been fixable by either restarting or pulling the battery.

Worth a test - Google FTW

I've been waiting for the right moment to start my adventures in the Google world of Chromebooks, but when I first read about them, I wasn't impressed that I would be limited to a browser, but now there are more apps, and Google Drive makes storage and...

Love it

Great as a light portable supplement, not the best choice for your ONLY computer unless you have extremely light computing needs. It can do pretty much anything a Windows or Mac OS can do but it might take a little more know how to get it done.

So far it does exactly what I wanted it to. It's fast, it's light, and it's cool. I already have a high end desktop and laptop that I use for most of my heavy lifting (gaming and web development) but they're inconvenient to haul around for misc use....

No Java. Don't know if they plan on implementing this in the future, but it can cause trouble with some web apps. So far the 2 places I've hit that had trouble was abc's episode streaming site and the online MMO Runescape which both rely on Java...
