Advent 4213 review

PC World impressed us recently with its first Netbook, the Advent 4211 (reviewed in issue 115), so expectations were high for its latest offering. The Advent 4213 (£350 inc. VAT) brings with it a new design and is one of the first Netbooks to feature...

Mobile Broadband ; Decent battery life ; Generous storage

Poor usability ; Screen could be brighter

Does this connected netbook impress?

Otherwise the performance is fairly similar to rival netbooks thanks to the similar run down of stats. Most regular office, email and internet programs run with no problems and you'll have no problems with most general tasks whilst out and about.

Advent 4213 review

Besides its integrated 3G access, there's not an awful lot of difference between the Advent 4213 and the rest of the netbook pack in terms of design, performance and features. Ultimately, the 4213 is more than capable of running everyday applications...

Non-glossy screen ; 3G Web access

Cramped keyboard with oddly shaped keys

Conclusion The Advent 4213 is a very solid netbook. It's not the most attractive or easiest to use, but its integrated 3G Internet access, decent battery life and portability make it a real contender in the netbook arena

Advent 4213 review

The Advent carries the unfortunate title of heaviest netbook in this group, but in reality this is far from disastrous.

Little big man. Good features plus built-in 3G with no tie-in.

Advent 4213

Advent's last netbook, the 4211, caught us a little by surprise. It may have been an MSI Wind U100 in all but name - it was the same netbook with an Advent logo - but the price was simply fantastic. Where the Wind was launched at around £300, the...

Built-in HSDPA and a huge hard disk can't save an ugly, uncomfortable addition to the netbook brigade.

Advent's 10in netbook has built-in HSDPA and a capacious hard disk; Mike Jennings finds out if the rest of the package comes up to scratch.

Advent 4213 HSDPA 3G-enabled netbook

It may have more storage than a netbook should have, and a weeny keyboard, but the Advent 4213 wins us over with its integrated HSDPA link.

As with so many SCCs, there's much to like about the Advent 4213 coupled with some irritations. Why is the keyboard so small when there's plenty of room for a larger one? Why is the battery physically big and yet not as capacious as it could be? It's...

Excellent 3G Netbook despite the keyboard.

Excellent 3G Netbook despite the keyboard.

I'm a taxi driver and this netbook is perfect for me. I did a lot of research into what I needed and this machine ticked every box. Small enough to fit into my glove box. Built in 3G modem so I dont have to have a dongle sticking out of the side to...
