please don't buy it

 

I bought it last xmas and it broke down twice in a year...first a broken hard drive and then after its sent back from the factory (best buy wouldn't fix it in the store), it couldnt start properly. SIGH.

The machine itself is very good. And Windows 8 seems to boot up and shut down quickly -- not my experience in previous Windows incarnations.Windows 8 makes it hard to move from one program to another.For example, if you use the start screen "mail" tile...

After miserably slow atom-based netbooks this is like a breath of fresh air: fast, acceptable wifi speed with a good router (searching will reveal how to replace the wifi adapter with a faster one), and 64 bit Windows that runs 32 bit apps nicely....
