Dell Inspiron 14 7000 Series DNCWA556H

When it comes to laptops -- and really many other products -- there are people who care more about value and getting the job done than looks and bells and whistles, and vice versa. The Dell Inspiron 14 7000 Series aims to satisfy both groups and, for...

The Dell Inspiron 14 7000 Series offers mainstream laptop buyers a more stylish option than lower-end Inspirons. It's well-priced for its design and configuration, which includes an aluminum body that's barely more than half an inch thick, a 1080p...

Dell offers just two hardware configurations and no option with a hybrid or solid-state drive. Battery life is decent, but not quite the nearly 9 hours Dell quotes.

Though its components and performance are somewhat average for its price, the Dell Inspiron 14 7000 Series' aluminum chassis, backlit keyboard, and 1080p touch screen give it a more premium feel.

Dell Inspiron 14 7000 Series review

Dell's had a rough time as of late. PC sales continue to slump, and the company has thus-far failed to capture a significant share of the growing mobile smartphone and tablet market.

Nice 1080p screen ; Thin, premium aluminum frame ; Roomy, comfortable keyboard ; Runs relatively cool and quiet

No solid-state storage ; Bottom edges are sharp ; So-so performance ; Screen could be brighter

Dell’s Inspiron 14 7000 Series is a slim, aluminum laptop with a nice 1080p touchscreen and solid battery life. We just wish it included an SSD.

"a very good computer for the price."

In it's price range this is a fine computer. ...

everything but the keyboard

the keyboard is smooth and I have a hard time feeling for keys when I type

I don't like the single USB Port

If you need to use a thumb drive and a mouse at the same time you are just out of luck. I had to buy a small hub to make up for the lack of a second usb port.

Good Deal

Seems to perform as advertised the only down side it that it only has one usb port and I use two on a regular basis

Good Machine

THe only reason I gave Features a 3 was the keyboard was not back-lit. (On business trips, I tend to work in dark hotel rooms.)My fault for assuming it would be and not reading specifications well enough.
