Dell Inspiron Mini 9

More configurable than other Netbooks ; good battery life ; XP and Linux OS options

Some awkward keyboard compromises ; no SSD options larger than 16GB

Dell's entry into the Netbook market means its time to take these low-cost, low-power PCs seriously. The Inspiron Mini 9 is an excellent example of the form, if not radically different from the competition.

Dell Inspiron Mini 9 | Netbook Obsidian Black

By (electronicsme.com)

Dell has also removed the function keys F1 through F10, and the actions they perform are now located on the home key row. F11 and F12 have been left off which makes screen changing impossible, but probably not as much of a priority in a netbook.

No internal fan, 8.9 inch screen with 1024 x 600 resolution, Easy to upgrade, 3 hrs 38 minute battery life at normal usage, Small keyboard causes need for finger gymnastics

Will the size is defintely a plus. Its ability to be carried anywhere easily and not weighing but 2.5lbs is great. I bought one online refurbished for only $277 from dell and i have to say what a steal.

Im having battery issues as many buyers are finding. Something to do with the Bios. Dell support was super fast fast to fix and im awaiting a new battery in 48 hrs. The harddrive was already filled dramitcally more than i was expecting

It so portable, you can carry it everywhere. Logs on faster than my HP laptop.. Excellent clarity. Includes Microsoft Word 2003 version, which is the best one.

The right hand shift key is too far to the end of the keyboard.
