The diminutive convertible tablet-style Flybook could be an appealing system for the business traveller, but it needs a boost in specification and a drop in price.

Small and light ; coloured livery is attractively different ; excellent handwriting recognition software ; 802.11b and Bluetooth, plus GPRS SIM card support

While it's technically packed with add-on features, the poor basic performance of the Flybook makes it a bad choice for anyone seeking an ultraportable notebook.

Exceptionally small ; Can take SIM cards ; Tablet-like functionality
